Trump being found not guilty will rev up the base for the mid terms which historically go for the party that lost the prez race. And Trump is still out there and can run again which will make for the best fund raising tool since Newt Gingrich. Most Republicans stood up and voted against impeachment so they can use that too. And now we can have a 1 1/2 year Congressional investigation on why it happened wrapping up in late summer 2022 complete with nationally televised hearings. Works out great for the next election which is why they do everything they do.

Nothing works in politics like division.

NARRATIVE COLLAPSE: WaPo Admits Inventing Trump ‘Find The Fraud’ Quotes, Quietly Issues ‘Correction’. Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to “find the fraud” or say she would be “a national hero” if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find “dishonesty” there. He also told her that she had “the most important job in the country right now.” A story about the recording can be found here. The headline and text of this story have been corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump.
B-Man Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 1) Horrifically inappropriate first response from the paper's own "fact" "checker." 2) The inaccurate story *was* cited by Democrats in their impeachment brief (page 10). 3) Trump didn't mention impeachment in this statement. But other than that, sure.
