Nflmockdraftdatabase. Went heavy defense but most were BPA anyway. Shi Smith is a YAC guy that Beane said they wanted.

This draft saw a run on edge prospects, corners, and WRs, causing me to explore what a "running back in the 1st round" draft could look like, even though that's really not my preference. It didn't turn out too bad, actually. I feel it addresses all major defensive needs (CB2, 1T, Edge, Nickel corner), and adds elite speed to the offense.

just did this one.  my comments below each pick.  thoughts?  might be my fav so far:

30.

Buffalo Bills

Asante Samuel Jr.

CB, Florida State

(a do it all DB.  Can play CB or safety if needed).

61.

Buffalo Bills

Javonte Williams

RB, North Carolina

(my fav RB in the draft here?  Unlikely, but Ill take it).

93.

Buffalo Bills

Hamsah Nasirildeen

S, Florida State

(big nickel).

161.

Buffalo Bills

Rashad Weaver

EDGE, Pittsburgh

(good DE.  At worst seems to project as a solid rotational player)

174.

Buffalo Bills

Shaka Toney

EDGE, Penn State

(undersized, but highly productive Edge.  May need to move to LB but a player)

213.

Buffalo Bills

Cornell Powell

WR, Clemson

(good WR depth)

236.

Buffalo Bills

Chris Rumph II

EDGE, Duke

(solid Edge rotational player)

Remaining issues:  no impact pass rusher, but none were available.  No 1T.  Will have to hit UDFA for 1T because I took Williams and Nasirildeen over a 1T.

I like it. But then, I also like Asante Samuel Jr more than some seem to.

Only critique is that one or two of those EDGE prospects might have to spend a year on the practice squad.  With Hughes, Addison, Epenesa, Obada, and Weaver, it's hard to see Toney or Rumph making the 53-man roster.

No idea if this is a good draft or not but I made a bunch of trade downs and took players I felt like had long term upside and could help depth wise.

56- Kelvin Joseph CB Kentucky

61- Carlos Basham Edge Wake Forest

94- Jamar Johnson Safety Indiana

171- Chauncey Golston Edge Iowa

191- Kayode Awosika Tackle Buffalo

236- Erroll Thompson LB Mississippi State

Added future draft selections

2022 Second round pick Seattle

2022 Second round pick Denver

2022 Third round pick Dallas

I feel like if the value isn’t there just keep trading down and acquiring 2022 selections. I feel like I was still able to improve the defense while opening up this teams future draft selections which will be needed once Josh’s contract comes due or for further trades to add a impact player.

Really Like this one...

One I question as to draft position is Campbell. Think he goes earlier than 72, but was hard to turn down the Lions offer and he was there...

30. Trade for 31,131 Ravens

31. Trade for 41,101 &2022 4th Lions

41. Q. Meinerz OG/C W. Whitewater

Trade 61 &131 for 72,112 & 6th Lions

72. T. Campbell CB Georgia

93. Trade for 97 & 5th Chargers

97. T. Tremble TE Notre Dame

101. Trade for 137 & 2022 4th Bucs

112. D. Odeyingbo Edge Vanderbilt

137. D. Deablo S VTech

161. S. Fehoko WR Stanford

174. K. Awosika OT Buffalo

213. C. Evan's RB Michigan

236. T. Slaton DT Florida

I think I covered the draft with a couple for more immediate needs in Campbell and Slaton. A few for possible very short and long term needs with Meinerz, Deablo, Tremble and Dayo (all should be able to start this year but won't be forced into it). As well as a few for potential in Fehoko, Awosika and Evan's.

Also picked up a few extra picks for next year. A 4th, 2-5's and a 6th. With all of the 1 yrs contracts, I think it's a good idea to pick up at least a few for next year. Worse case it will give a little amo to move around if we need to.

Swung for the fences to get Kyle Pitts.   Cost 2-1s 2-2s and a 6th to get Pitts and a 6th.  Still came out with 8 picks this year and still have 5 picks next year.   Just wanted to try something different.
