Nextmanup Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 These 2 guys carried their teams on their backs to victory last weekend! And you wonder why people want to talk about them? They are 2 of the hottest 3 or 4 names in the league right now, and the league loves to promote its stars, as it should. A huge problem for the NHL is that their stars do not stand out nearly enough with how the game is played these days.

Two quarterbacks from the same draft class who were both viewed by many as quarterbacks who wouldn't be successful in the NFL. One has a league MVP title and their first career playoff win, and the other is playing at an MVP level and just won their first playoff game. For both teams, the offense is almost entirely dependent on the QB. Good defenses aside, this game is about Allen vs. Jackson. Exactly. Two teams that wouldn’t have made it out of the wild card round but for their QBs. Ravens and Bills drafted well, developed well, schemed well. Congrats to both clubs. Now go beat em. 2
Figster Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Myself personally OP, the AFC Divisional round of the playoffs has 3 out of 4 QB's coming out of the draft class of 2018. Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. Different skill set, different adversities to conquer, and different paths leading up to where they are now. I think its interesting to see how the QB's from Allens draft class have developed and compete in the league and aginst each other in my humble opinion.

And here is where we disagree about the QB's. Jackson (and did not see every play) made maybe 3-4 great plays (two great runs & a pass), he put up 20 points against a below avg defense and threw a bad Int. Allen made one boneheaded play, which could have cost them the game (and frankly Daboll made a terrible play call). Conversely he made 8-10 great plays..... Diggs x 2, Davis x 2, Runs, Knox TD..... He was hamstrung by terrible field position and some wonky play calling too. There were almost no gimme passes/completions the entire game. Yes I'm biased.

Don't know why I didn't notice before; very unusual to see out here in nature.

Would hate for a game decided by weather as that can affect the pass more and is Buffalo's strength. Also expect a lot of Lamar vs. Allen talk and thus will stay off chat and watching talking heads too. If "Lamar" wins could be incessant.😡 Decent weather, clean track and Go Bills. Wind is the concern. Slick track advantage O as they know where they are going. D has to react and the slips begin.
Billsfan1972 Posted January 17, 2021 Author Posted January 17, 2021 (edited) Instead of a new thread, will try and resuscitate this one.....😜 Biggest concern was the weather and frankly that was a huge disadvantage to the Bills. Yep & said that on Monday.... Allen couldn't go long and the wind was a significant factor. Lamar had some great runs and eluded tackles too. While no points the Bills when Lamar was sacked and three penalties had them second and 32 from the 1 and the Bills let up a bit, cost the Bills points. How they let them get an easy 12 yard gain & then a 20 yard one could have been the turning point. Edited January 17, 2021 by Billsfan1972
