Said it in another thread and yep this place is my "Therapy Couch", so need to be it's own thread...

Last week I too predicted this to some extent & saw the Bills in some ways like the 2019 Ravens in terms of their performances particularly in terms of how they played down the stretch (not in any way comparing the two teams Offenses & Defenses).

I was so happy they won, but how they won certainly gave me pause.  There were mistakes & the coaching frankly was not great.

However the Bills are Off the Schneid and for once a playoff game went their way.

Just as a reminder.....

1999 Flutie Fumbles at the 3 yard line with :15 seconds left lose 24-17

2000 The Rob Johnson debacle as I call it, while others call it "Music City Miracle" or "Homerun Throwback"

2017 3 friggin points & lose 10-3

2019 Blow 16-0 lead, multiple missed calls and oh Houston converting 3rd & 19 with a 7 yard pass over the middle....

Was not a fun game to watch as the Bills were just a little off and that is what I worried about after 5 dominant performances in a row (SF, Pitt, Den, NE & Mia).

The last "bad" game they played was a tough 27-17 game vs. LAC...

Probably a good thing now in retrospect that they won.....😜

It's the playoffs. They played a very good team in all phases. Rivers was on fire. No style points in the playoffs.

Let me also add that I think the Colts matchup very well against the Bills.

I was a little worried that you hadn't started a thread about being worried in a day or two. Glad to see you back in and seeking help. Just lay down on the couch over there and tell us all about it. We are here to listen...

As said it was a difficult game to watch, but a lot of the past 25 years was washed away when the final whistle went and feeling must better, thank you😉.

Next week I expect a better performance and feel good about it, which is yes, just what I said in the last thread I started about my concern about yesterday, which obviously somewhat played out.....😉

Beasely did say after the game, the Indy defense was the toughest he’s seen all year.  Considering the Rams, Steelers, and 49ers defenses all ranked above them in the regular season, that’s quite a compliment.  I was confident we would win, but understood they had a very balanced team.  I thought we would’ve won a little more convincingly maybe by 10.  A win is a win.

We finally won our first playoff game in 25 years.  It feels great and we won when we weren’t at our best.  Neither line played well, but the other players did fine in retrospect.

I honestly think a lot of Bills fans went into this game underestimating how good the Colts were.  The game was much closer than I would've liked/expected but I knew it was going to be a slugfest and I think Buffalo played better than some Bills fans are making it out to be.  There's no way we were going to steamroll them the way we were burying all those teams to close out the regular season because they were the first real test we've had since the Chiefs game.

Colts were better prepared scheme wise and mentally.  Us losing the field position battle and getting zilch out of 2 of 3 drives off the break was a big help to the colts.

We seemed to handle the run well but got burned by tes all day, so they found the flaw in the plan and used it.

Dabol really goofed up w play calling lots of times trying to out smart himself.

Anyhow, even with all of that and our patented late collapse on d the the team pulled it out, so we have room to improve

IMO that Indy team was built much like the Titans team last year.

Only the Saints, Chiefs, Ravens, and Colts had top 10 scoring offense and scoring defense in the playoffs.

The Bills beat a very good team.

Agreed 100%. From predictions on this board to friends of mine sayin 31-13 a lot of people underestimated IND. They are a well coached detailed team with a good QB (Rivers was dynamite today) and good line play that made it tough. Some of the reaction to this game to me is that people are surprised Buffalo didnt win by more. I called 27-17 and had the defense not had a miscommunication on the last IND TD I was right.

great game and hats off to the colts for pushing us that hard

Anyone going into that game thinking the Bills were going to win by 30 was due for a hard time.  The Colts were a more balanced team with a better defense and better running game.  For the most part they are well coached.

That said, if you didnt enjoy the hell out of that game yesterday you need to check your pulse.  It was fantastic playoff football.  Its the playoffs everyone left is good.  The Bills didnt skate by Indi like they did the Dolphins because the Dolphins were an 8 win team dressed up as a 10 win team.   Bottom line is the Bills beat a very good football team yesterday.

The Colts are probably the strongest team in the trenches on both sides of the ball in the league.  They might not be stacked at the skill positions but Rivers can still play and I knew the level of line play they are capable of would present challenges.  Will be interesting to see what moves the Colts make going forward because they have the foundation to be a legit contender too.

If you go back and watch the game again, you will feel even better. The Colts are a very good team and a really tough matchup for the Bills. For the entire first half, the Bills started a drive no better than their 15 yard line (with an avg start at the 8yd line), while the Colts' worst start was their 25 (with an avg start of their own 38 on their other drives). For the game, they didn't turn the ball over, they held the ball for over 34 minutes, consistently got pressure on Allen all day, shut down the Bills' running game, and they got the benefit of several calls, including a clear fumble near the end of the game. They played the best game of their season - and still lost.

Allen was phenominal. The defense played well outside of two drives in the fourth quarter and came up big at several points in the game, especially when they needed to the most. Considering how long they were on the field, their defensive stop at the end of the game was even more impressive.

It is tough to win in the playoffs. I trust them to be better in their next game. This is a good team.
