PaoloBillsFanFromItaly Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 A lot of times our defense stopped Indi offense for no gain or minimum gain on first and second down only to get torched on 3rd and long. Discuss. 1
Big Turk Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Definitely not what you like seeing after they have been so good in recent games at getting teams off the field. 1
Magox Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Definitely very disappointing third down defense today. They can't expect to keep winning if they are giving up that high of a 3rd down rate. Josh Allen carried the win with his playmaking ability. 1
CaptnCoke11 Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 No pass rush at all.. Rivers will find an open man sitting back there in a clean pocket
GunnerBill Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 They kept blitzing unsuccessfully on 3rd down. The couple of times they did stop them was 4 man rush and coverage behind it. If you blitz a guy as experienced as Rivers and don't get home he will find the open guy. 2
fasteddie Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 There's not much to discuss. The d has been doing this for years. This year, it hasn't been as noticeable because the offense has been good enough to overcome the deficiencies of the defense. This didn't happen in the KC or Titans game, and it almost bit them today. They need some major league coaching to go further in the playoffs.

Simon Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 My wife was probably about ready to punch me n the head by the 4th qrtr if I mumbled one more thaing about @*%$&* third down.
Brennan Huff Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 The defense was awful today. No pressure on rivers, receivers were wide open all day, poor tackling, etc. Thankfully the Colts beat themselves on several posessions 1
Aussie Joe Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Let’s be honest... the D had been at best average for the greater part of the season... Need to find some front 7 players in the draft, but finding a true difference maker at 28 is going to be tough.. In Beane we trust ..
chef4131 Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 I don’t think it’s unfair to ask for more from Oliver and Edmunds 1

Forced their backs to find a different hole on more than a few occasions. 1
Malazan Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Did no one tell the Bills they should stop them on 3rd down?! You learn this in pee wee football! FIRE McClappy before the next game!
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Re the defense more generally, they did a nice job on Taylor. Amazingly, it was Hines who gashed them late on those draws. Hines was an impressively slippery back— was really impressed by him.

That second half drive Colts TD drive drove me nuts. They just wouldn’t stop blitzing someone on third down and long, and Rivers is good enough to find the TE sitting down in the zone. It left Tre’ hanging out to dry. Rivers is good at that, and Frazier should have known better. 1
K-9 Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 There’s nothing to discuss. Our D just didn’t answer the bell all day long.
