Thought this was pretty interesting.  I get the idea and they were talking about it on WGR.

They should be able to beat the Jags with any distraction I would think

They should yes, but imagine looking up at the scoreboard and seeing the ravens up 30 points.  Reich doesn't want his players mailing it in if they don't have a chance.

McDermott disagrees with Frank.   My guess is because we're in a different situation, if he sees the Browns are up by 30 all the practice squad activated players are going in.

He only needs one of the Dolphins, Browns or Ravens to lose. I did forget that the Jags one win this year was against the Colts

Right. And Browns and ravens shouldn't lose. Bills will depend on what we plan on doing.  Well, it mattered more before the fitz news anyways.

In their case it makes sense...want your players dialed in and focused on the task at hand not what is happening somewhere else with other teams

True, but I guess no one said that Frank won’t know 😂. Honestly though, Reich’s a pretty straightforward guy. I’m sure he won’t pay attention, and wants to play starters the entire game regardless. With that said, it really wouldn’t be bad if someone could relay a Bengals blowout to him so he could pull some starters

Oh I'm sure it will be. If it's a situation that a team is losing badly in a blow out, I almost feel positive someone will let him know. If for nothing else, just that very reason, to pull some starters.

But I suspect they will not inform him or anyone unless it's a definite situation in which there is no question that said team is losing, or winning. Otherwise they will only be focusing on what they need to do.

I understand his intention with this, but it says to me he doesn’t believe in his guys will to give it their all.

Does Indy have any fans?  I guess it really doesnt matter with cell phones

I thought cell phones were disallowed for players and if a staff members allows a player to use or tells score he is taking risk of being fired for cause.

Shouldn't this thread be moved to PP&P since it has to do with that whole freedom of the press thing?🤣

Freedom of press has NOTHING to do with this.  Neither does passing social studies class.

They need either Dolphins , Ravens ,or Browns to lose to get in.

All are likely in a normal game but bills and Steelers playing backups is likely (Steelers for sure).

They don't but it's more to keep the players focused on the game they are playing instead of watching the Raven/Bengals score.

I can see pros and cons to it.

Good to keep the players focused.  Bad because if they Ravens are blowing out the Bengals then there really isn't any reason to keep playing players and risking injury if their season is over.

coaches can still know the scores

I fully understand that, but if his guys are that easily distracted they have issues that need correcting.

McDermott when asked about it, didn’t see It as something to protect his guys from. To me it doesn’t show a lot of faith in your guys, jmo.

Frank is not going to want his players demoralized by looking at the scoreboard this Saturday at Bills Stadium.

I was literally going to post the same thing! LOL

Yeah, I love the old stadium, but I never realized how terrible the bathroom situation is until my last visit. In addition to sink peeing, you can miss a significant portion of the game waiting for the bathroom. I have no use for all the fancy bells and whistles these new stadiums have, but waiting 20 minutes to get an open stall is ridiculous, and it’s the one new stadium amenity I’d appreciate.

Sink peeing is awesome.  I mean, its nearly impossible to miss, even if you're three sheets to the wind (as my mother used to say)....

Probably should of had a guy designated to monitor things to let him know if they had a shot would of been a great late game motivator.
