Now that we have a good sample size, what should the Bills do with TE this off-season?

The guy is one of the teams prominent leaders of the team.  After 3 seasons 2 pro bowls, 2 team captains will be 22.

Similar to Shaq you should take the 5th year option. It’s not that costly and that extra cost controlled year can be huge. I still think it was a mistake to not take lawsons 5th year. I was fine letting him walk but I would of gladly kept him around one more year at that price.

I still believe Edmunds has not hit his ceiling.   I want him around for another 2 seasons.   If he plays lights out in year 5 I guess they can tag him. 
 

This is assuming that exercising his 5th year option is not detrimental to extending Allen.

I have backflipped on this a few times..

 

The 5th year option for Linebacker this year was $9Mil so I probably pick it up as it gives you another two years of control (obviously...)

Absolutely agree with him being only 22! I see him taking bad angles and being too committed to his original attack. He needs to learn to make adjustments. He was also playing on a bad shoulder for half the season. Seems like a great character guy.

I  hope they draft his replacement and let him play out a lame duck season next year. His athleticism is wasted on his soft, bad instinct play.

We declined Shaq's 5th year option. I agree though that we should treat them the same way. Let Edmunds play out year 4 and have someone else overpay him to a regrettable contract.

Give him year 4. No need to re-sign him sooner than that.

The way he performs for the rest of the way will have a lot of say in the matter.  If he goes out and plays really well vs Kelce and the chiefs run game, we may have to

You have to pick up the 5th year option. Then see if his demands for an extension fit what you do. If not just let him play out year 4 and start negotiations again in year 5.
