pennstate10 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 (edited) Apparently FanDuel is running a promo. https://account.nj.sportsbook.fanduel.com/promotions/Spread-the-Love-dec-28 Seems like a free $45. Or maybe there is some catch I'm missing. Edited December 27, 2020 by pennstate10
TBBills Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 They are trying to desperately get people to join the site, fanduel is probably on the way to bankruptcy. 3 1
Seasons1992 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Yeah, you can move the line if 10000 people sign up......that seems excessive.
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 I think this violates RICO statutes. * And none of youse mugs better ask who is 'Rico Statues'. 🤨 3
The Frankish Reich Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 The last time they did one of these was the Clippers opening NBA playoff game. Something absurd like "you win if the Clippers win, or lose by 50 or fewer points." I read the fine print -- given the max bet and how the line was structured, their maximum exposure was something like a buck per account. I'll be checking out this one, though ... I'm not one to turn my nose up at $45.

Captain Caveman Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 I bet one of these earlier this year (I think it was maybe a SF / Rams game? and it was easy money. I moved to NY state since then and don't think I can wager there anymore.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 $50 max bet is my understanding too.

QCity Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 They do this from time to time, Draftkings had a special where you could bet the Chiefs +101 on opening day. Same business principle of a crack dealer giving you your first hit for free. 1
RiotAct Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Meh, NYS doesn’t even allow online sports betting it looks like. 1

If anybody has a workaround please let me know. But I have had to use offshore sports betting and have not been able to circumvent fan duel with my VPN either.

It's parent company's US arm (which includes Fanduel) saw revenues up 80% in Q3 2020 and saw subscribers go up by 450,000. They are looking to make 1.1 billion next year. They are the market leader for online betting. 1
HOUSE Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 I once filled my front tire to+73 but then I started to run 1

There was a short time where it wasn't and was then remedied within a couple months I believe. You just have to stay in tax compliance with net winnings. Edited December 27, 2020 by 34-78-83
