Listening as I'm driving home from work this morning and they posed an interestingly fun question.

Which player would you choose from the "drought" years to complete our current roster?

One picked Kyle Williams as his #1 pick and the other picked CJ Spiller. I didn't understand the Meatball pick because he did get to play in a playoff game his final season. CJ was interesting because of his breakaway speed and abilities in space.

Other popular answers were: Gilmore, Mario Williams, Fred Jackson, SJ13 and T. Spikes.

Me personally would loved to have BeastMode on this current team. Our inability to pick up 2-3 yards in 2nd and 3rd down situations is IMO killing our offense. Marshawn would make defenses respect the possibility of running it down their throats.

Pat Williams, Antoine Winfield and Mario also crossed my mind. They agreed that an upgrade at TE would be ideal but unfortunately there is no one in our drought history worth considering.😂😂😂

What say you?

Action Fredex Jackson.

This team needs an all around stud back.

Fred would fit the “Bill.”

yeah I almost thought this or lynch, but then they aren’t running all that much. How about replacing Levi Wallace with Stephon Gilmore? Prime Lee Evans might be an upgrade over John Brown.

Aaron Schobel would be my pick.

In his 8 healthy seasons, he averaged 9.5 sacks a season. He  was a major force on bad teams.

this is tough.  Biggest improvement would be from Wallace to Gilmore.  But adding Mario Williams would complete the need for a pass rush, and Wallace is a serviceable #2 CB.  Humm.  I guess I'd go Gillmore because having the shutdown ability against a team like KC might be more valuable.

he's a good option also.  Imagine his sack totals on a good team!

This is a good answer because the addition of Mario and his abilities to pressure the QB would instantly make Levi a better CB by default.

Mario Williams and it isn't close.

With Jerry and Mario, ooh baby, that would be something wouldn’t it.

Gilmore as well would be a quality choice.

I don't think Gilmore would have anywhere near the impact that Mario would, assuming both are in their prime. Instead of a rotation of Epenesa and Jefferson and whoever else defenses would have to double Mario which leaves Hughes free to do what he does and possibly give Oliver more space to work with. If this defense had a dominant edge rusher they would immediately be elite.

This was a great discussion this morning. To be honest, all of the answers listed here are great. The sad thing is that the Bills had some really great players but the coaching, management and culture were terrible and cancerous.

With that being said, I’d say Pat Williams to plug the middle. I love the Fred pick but the Bills need more help on D.
