Beerball Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Who you got, the HC who made it abundantly clear at his first presser that he was in charge or the GM that he hired? Whichever way you lean this is a good problem to have.
DaggersEOD Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 I’d say McD as it’s his job to make the acquired talent perform. Good talent in a bad system is a bad team. Bad/average talent in a good system can still be a good team IMO 1
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Who is "McBeane" for 500, Alex. (RIP Trebek) 12
Mike in Horseheads Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 (edited) I voted for not just another pretty face, he went out and got the tools "I'm in charge here" 1 hour ago, foreboding said: Does it matter? yes because thats what we do here Edited December 11, 2020 by Mike in Horseheads 2
LeviF Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 All their press conferences are a cappella so I guess a tie? 2 1
Royale with Cheese Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 (edited) I think what makes their relationship work is I don't think Beane has an ego. McDermott tells Beane what he needs and Beane understands it....McDermott trusts him. Beane does the homework and McDermott gives the thumbs up or thumbs down. Terry Pegula is Don Vito. Sean McDermott is Sonny Corleone. Brandon Beane is Tom Hagen. Don and Sonny don't die in this fictional comparison. Edited December 11, 2020 by Royale with Cheese 1 1 1

Jauronimo Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Beane overhauled this roster and made the trades that brought us Allen, Diggs, Tremaine. He signed Beasley and Brown. Head coach is extremely important, but McDermott has a lot to work with thanks to Beane.

Greg S Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Both equally. Beane buys the groceries and McDermott cooks the meal. 1 1
MAJBobby Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Will not vote on this because they are EQUALLY important. 7 1

Rk_Bills86 Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 I think it's impossible to give either McD or Beane more credit for the team. I honestly think, from multiple interviews and interactions, they have a friendship similar to what most guys have with their "Bros". How they are together is exactly how I imagine it would be for my friends and I to actually go through with opening a business we've discussed for years - a reoccurring conversation we've had for years - for us it's a construction/engineering business - for McD and Beane it was being the GM/HC of an NFL team. There is no one without the other. They are the front office version of Hoodie/Brady.
