The backup is there because he may be asked to do the starter's job---no less. I think he is a low end NFL starting corner. If he was your 3rd outside guy in this scheme you would be delighted. They have tried to upgrade on him a couple of times and it hasn't worked out. 1

He may be low a end starter somewhere, but that and the fact that he's an 8 game starter here doesn't mitigate the fact that he's struggling a lot as starting CB on the Bills roster. The Cowboys signed Worley to a one-year, $3 million deal in the 2020 offseason, but released him on Oct. 28 due to underachieving play. He signed with the Bills practice squad on Nov. 3 and was activated for Buffalo’s Week 10 loss to Arizona. The Raiders currently have injury concerns in the secondary, with rookie corner Damon Arnette exiting Sunday’s game against the Jets with a concussion. Bastards!
