drnykterstein Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Why? We cut Bruce Smith Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas......it's a business dude....and don't tell me you have more respect or admiration for Moulds over those guys! 315253 It a matter of respect for a guy who has made sacrifices for the organization. Mould is a franchise player, a hard worker, and represents our team and why we are prideful of the bills. You cut moulds, you turn your back on the very thing that so many of us love about the Bills.
Dan III Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 You're right, you may be. Seriously, Chrebet was solid physically. This guy sounds like he's the size of someone's kid sister. 315282

He's been paid a boatload of $$ since he arrived here and TD gave him his latest big contract. I like the guy also but he's not worth the huge $$ after this season. Only an idiot like Dan Snyder would pay a 34 year old WR with declining skills big $$.
Campy Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I may be the only one but I see Parrish as our Cherbet, a 3rd down slot guy who keeps the chains moving. 315259 I'd tend to agree if Chrebet was anywhere close to the 4.36 that Parrish runs.
EC-Bills Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 nate stays -- this is a good pick how, many more years is eric going to be around ?? 315224 You're never going to replace someone of Mould's caliber with a half-pint.
kota Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 With the way people were predicting things here i will say um no. Because nobody was right today.
Rico Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 With the way people were predicting things here i will say um no. Because nobody was right today. 315381 Meh....
DeeRay Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I may be the only one but I see Parrish as our Cherbet, a 3rd down slot guy who keeps the chains moving. Yeah... and he'll play about as many games as Chrebet.
In space no one can hear Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 So you replace a 6'2" 220 lb. receiver witha 5'9, 170 lb receiver? If that's TD's methodology, I'll take a pass. 315196 AGREED!!
Dan III Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Yeah... and he'll play about as many games as Chrebet. 315459 144.. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1263
Ralonzo Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Moulds has been in decline for a couple years. Maybe they did see something on film and are taking out insurance. With the rule changes favoring midget WRs these days, they think they can go with Evans/Parrish/Aiken or something. Moulds will NOT be worth his jack next year. No doubt about that. If those bucks are going to Nate then that explains the lack of attention paid to CB. I don't know, I'm trying to figure it out too.
Sound_n_Fury Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 According to MM, Roscoe is seen as a "slash" Randel el type of player who can move the chains on 3rd down and be used for specific matchups. He also said that his speed/quick combination of talent was rare. 315297 The summary on Roscoe from the PFW guide says "Not as big or athletic as Randel El, but has better speed and would be a good value for a team with a luxury pick in the third round. Can contribute in the return game immediately and become a solid slot receiver."
Buftex Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I may be the only one but I see Parrish as our Cherbet, a 3rd down slot guy who keeps the chains moving. 315259 Funny, I see him more as our Az Hakim, a kick return specialist who can make huge, game breaking plays on offense, from time to time. With his size limitations, I just can't see him being a #1, 2 or 3 guy on a regular basis. Maybe we can convert him to a defensive back, if Clements does leave....could picking two guys from "The U" be a way of warming McGahee up toward a long career in Buffalo? I am intrigued by the pick, but I must say, a little puzzled by it. But, it is TD, and I can't say that I have ever really been able to figure out what he is up to. I can only assume that he has a good idea that some quality O-line men will become free-agents after June 1st. Hey, come to think of it, Az Hakim could very well become a June 1st casualty with all the receivers that Detroit seems to be stock-piling... Buffalo Bills drafts get curiouser and curiouser every year.....
dave mcbride Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Although TD has a mess on his hands with the MW contract that has to be resolved, it may be easier to dump Moulds. Hate to see him leave, but if it means Nate stays, goodbye Eric. 315262 don't you realize that mike "feet of stone" williams is a far better player than eric "on-his-way-to-about-800-career-receptions" moulds?

I personally have no problem with Parish as our 3rd receiver.....although I question where a 3rd receiver should be drafted.... I am of the opinion that in no way does Parish mean Moulds is gone......but I also dont beleive that Moulds will around next year with that huge cap hit.....I think we will either bring in a vet to replace him or use our 1st round pick on a big physical receiver to replace him........and that saddens me because I would like to see Moulds retire a bill......
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Was watching the Draft with Lancaster Steve, who said the above comment seconds after the Bills picked Parrish. He may be onto something. Agreed ? 315190 No......not a chance. I understand the selection, but turning the keys over to Don Beebe Jr.? Rodney Harrison could turn this kid into tomato puree with one solid shot.

Branch, the Super Bowl MVP, is an undersized receiver at 5'9". NE has managed to use their speed to take advantage mismatches in the defense. No doubt Donahoe would like to do the same with Evans and Parrish. And, you're right, replacing Moulds with Parrish would be like replacing Andre Reed with Don Beebe. They're completely different receivers.

But, every team makes these decisions every year. You could apply your argument to so many ex-Bills, that is just the way the game is played today: gear up for this season, but always keep an eye on next season! MARK VI is right. As soon as Moulds restructured his contract after the season, I had the feeling that this would be his last year in Bills colors. It happens on every team. It already happened with Bledsoe. It is kind of sad for fans (provided they like the player!), but I think, more and more, the players seem to realize when their days are numbered with a team. Don't feel too sorry for them, they and the owners are out to make as much money for themselves as they can. Even if they are "criminally underpaid" (think TO ) they are still making a damn good living. Many of us get treated far worse at our jobs, for far far less money.....

MrLocke Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 It tends to make sense because I think when Josh Reed was selected it was to replace Peerless and Josh Reed was selected in the second round just like Roscoe Parrish. Now having said that I do not like the idea of having two starting wide receivers under six feet tall. Also correct me if I am wrong here but the conventional wisdom is that you use a second round pick to get a starter not a third receiver.
