I thought the same thing, that there was a spot where he could have turned it up and stayed low and got the ball over the line rather than taking it wider.

 

He got it, but that was real close on 4th down.

Kumerow came wide open just as Allen threw the ball away on 1st down. That should have been a TD on 1st down.
