oldmanfan Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 All the best to you and your family Steve H. Thanks for all you did for the Bills! 1
BillsfaninChicago Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 He was an important piece of the puzzle to ending the playoff drought. Wish him the best of luck in the next part of his life. 1
BuffaloFan32 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 I sat behind the bills bench at an away game one time. For a guy that only plays a few downs per game, Haushcka was constantly working the whole time. Stretching/jogging/kicking you could tell he really took his craft seriously. 2
Success Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 It's really good - and rare - to feel the kind of confidence in a kicker that we had when Hausch was rolling. I'll always appreciate his time as a Bill. Best of luck in retirement!
QLBillsFan Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) H $ was great for the Bills! Wish all the best. Edited December 5, 2020 by QLBillsFan
Livinginthepast Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 How does he rank in terms of Bills kickers over the past 30 years? Probably one of the best? the best?
Thurman#1 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Best of luck to him. He'll be remembered here.

Freddie's Dead Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Before I get to Hauschka's retirement, I must say ***** You to both Henry Anderson and his wife. Anderson's cheap shot was bad enough, but then his wife piled on by taunting Hauschka's injury on twitter. ***** You both and the horses you rode in on. This is a sad day for me. Hau$ch Money was a phenomenal kicker with a phenomenal leg before Anderson destroyed his career. Whenever Hau$ch came out, you just knew the kick was going through, especially for the clutch kicks. You can also say "what might have been", because Hau$ch was destined to be one of the GOAT's for placekickers (yeah, I seddit!). Dude was an 87-90% kicker before the injury, then dropped to 78% in his last two years for the Bills. All the best to Stephen Hauschka and his family, and farewell, Hau$ch Money. 1

He was a very good player in his prime, and a class act off the field. He and his wife started the adoption thing (and it was really cool to see the Beane's take over that when he left) to give back to the community in a very unique and meaningful way. He seems like a great father. Football gave him a wonderful career opportunity for 12 years, has now given him the opportunity to be a great father and opened doors to make wherever he lives, a better place for his neighbors. Good for you Haus $$$ THANK YOU! And enjoy this new stage of life to its fullest. You've earned it. Edited December 5, 2020 by CSBill

It may have even been in court rather than the league. Details are fuzzy. I kinda liked that approach, though not terribly practical here. Thanks for all you did for us, sir. Little tip.......stay in shape for a few more weeks in case some kicker gets hurt. You just never know! Good call. That was the "Bertuzzi Incident". That ended up essentially costing the player a career, $500,000 in lost earnings and criminal charges in British Columbia. 1

He held on by a thread last year, forcing McDermott to have to punt from inside the opponent 40 yard line for than any other team in the NFL, but there was no way we could put ourselves at that big of a disadvantage this year before the ball was kicked off even. It's why Bass would have had to be God awful to have lost the job and why I kind of snickered to myself that Hauschka was seen as the incumbent. In all honesty, Haushcka never really even had a shot this year at retaining the job here, not with his leg strength gone. His attempt at a career resurrection in Jacksonville was very say...missed a 24 yarder and was WAY short on a 49 yarder that barely made it to the front of the endzone. honestly, there’s a good chance he was on his last legs even without the hit. I’m not trying to send a Christmas card to the dude that hit him or saying he’s absolved of being an ass for the hit... but I think we can only truly blame him for the short term impact not a career ended

TigerJ Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 A good guy. Too bad things ended the way they did in Buffalo with fans calling for his head in his final season in Buffalo. Tyler Bass does look to be pretty awesome lately though.
