Wow, does no one remember the epic JPL tree planting discussion??  He was sainted here for this.....until he was "run out of town".

You people need to lighten up!  I figured at least one of you would get the reference...

I think McD brought him in with hopes that he could be the guy he was but at the least be a insurance policy on the depth chart and to inject some of that exact maturity into the program .

He sure isn't the guy i didn't like a few yeas ago and although he may not be as good a player as he once was he has a lot to bring to a young roster and that like Gore, Zo, Kyle & him can help improve a young player in more ways than just their play !!

The name Losman may make a good joke in itself. The Buffalo version of getting Munson’d.

Norman's play hasn't been very good, but every team needs depth and every team needs veteran leaders.  Perhaps he can provide those things to the Bills.  No question that Wallace, Dane Jackson and (arguably) even Cam Lewis should see the field before Norman, but injuries happen, teams run 5 WR sets, etc., so you need lots of DBs.  Norman's punch out against the Raiders was a huge play in that game and made a big difference in the Bills getting that (AFC) win, so he has contributed on the field, at least a little bit.  I also applaud his off-the-field efforts in the community.  I didn't follow him closely in the past, but from what little I know, it looks like he has matured as a person.

It seems like he is setting up for long term here. Think McBeane have talked to him about coaching afterwards?

no

Micah Hyde, when asked about it in a post practice presser, laughed and led off saying something about they laugh at Norman because he always wants to be in charge or the center of things.  Something about when they were talking about having a dinner for the room (I assume this was preseason) with catered food brought in, Norman thought he should run it (the implication was clear that's not what Hyde and the others thought).   "That's just his personality"

Hyde was quick to move on to say positive things about Norman and his efforts, of course, but at the end of the day, Norman only pledged $2,500 of his own money and I'm sure many other players give more in terms of resources and time and don't hold a press conference about it.  I just got the impression that Hyde thought it was a bit show-boat-y and while he praised it, he was also rolling his eyes a bit.

It's still positive so it's all good.  It wasn't like Hyde disparaged him or acted bent out of shape,  I just came away with the impression that he thought Norman was a bit LAMP-y.

I'm pretty sure Norman travels with a collapsible podium...........he lives for attention and the podium is a lot easier to cover,  he can keep two hands on it and not get flagged and it won't stiff arm him.

Being a good in the community when your skills are fading = harder to cut. 😉 also the more good stuff he does, the less they talk about that stuff arm.

i think this is Norman’s only year in Buffalo but I salute anyone trying to make a difference. In all seriousness, that’s great.

Getting the reference does not change my answer.

I laughed out loud at this.  Well played.

Maybe this, maybe something else.  I think he's too talented to stay on the sidelines.   I'd guess that McD and Frazier and their staff are looking for ways to get him on the field.

For example, we already know that the Bills are creative on defense.  White's had two INTs this season where he's dropped his man and fallen into underneath coverage.   That's not an accident, and it isn't White freelancing.  It's by design - players are taught to recognize routes and to adjust, and it isn't just White.  When he recognizes the opportunity, his teammates also have to recognize the opportunity, because they need to adjust to cover the gap that White is leaving.

That on-field awareness is what makes Hyde and Poyer so valuable.  It's awareness that, I think, Klein had to develop before he could do the things he's been doing.

Norman has that kind of on-field thinking ability.  He learned it playing for McD in Carolina.   And I think before his injury he played better than most people give him credit.   I could see the intelligence in his play.

So certainly if the Bills are in dime coverage, and maybe even nickel, they're looking for ways to get him on the field.   He's not a natural nickel back, but in the nickel, White could move to the slot man and Norman play the wideout.  Certainly in the dime.

And yes, maybe he's a safety.

I don't think we've seen the last of Josh Norman.

Allen has gotten picked like that a few times this year too(and thrown a few almost picks on others), most notably by Peterson in the Cards game

Him getting stiff armed by Derrick Henry also contributed greatly by becoming a meme all over the internet, Henry winning Angry Runs, and might go down as one of the greatest stiff arms of all time so he will be featured in videos for the next 30 years.

I always feel like there are some guys who were supposed to be Bills at some point.

I've loved him since he got here. I know he hasn't done too much on the field yet - but the spirit is there, and when he has played, I've felt like he's been one of the emotional leaders for the D.

Kind of reminds me of Merriman, who never played amazing for us, but just seemed to love it here....

glad he's a Bill

Same. He has done a lot of British TV as a guest analyst during the playoff while with Washington and he just comes across so darn likeable.
