I think Daboll needs to show a lot more before he sniffs a HC job.

Let's not forget, defense isn't played all that much in today's NFL.

At the current rate the NFL is becoming the pro college league, lots of offense and not nearly enough defense. But what are ya gonna do, College ball is where the players come from, so ya get what ya get.

Another successful branch in the Belichick coaching tree.

It's a lot harder when you leave the system of cheating honed over decades

Well, not really.

Feel for the Lions fans. They have had such terrible teams. Only the Barry Sanders years come to mind as mildly successful and even that was such a waste of talent.

Not shocked.  I'm only wondering why it took so long.  Heck, I'm not even mocking the Lions for these slow moves; look at how many years of Bills' football were completely fruitless, and for exactly the same reasons.

Jaguars HAVE to be on the list, right?? I mean, what the hell does Marrone have on them?!?!?!

He just listed the ones that are actually open currently. There will be more.

Lions should move on from Stafford too. They missed their shot this year on Herbert. The rumblings around the Detroit area was Quinn the only person who wanted to draft Okudah. Not sure could be just talk. But they probably will low enough in the draft to take another shot at a Qb.

About freaking time too...

How bad do ya need to suck before the axe falls. 6-10, 4-12, 3-7

What gets me is the Lions actually weren't that bad under Jim Caldwell 11-5 his first season in 2014, then 7-9, 9-7, 9-7.

Jim Schwartz even made the playoffs in 2011 at 10-6.

To me it starts at the top with the GM / HC and then the assistant coaches. Both Quinn and Patricia stunk.

Figured that was coming soon.  Would you take Patricia as a DC?

Unless Fraser gets  a HC gig he will be here as long as McD is here.  No change in sight, even though things have slipped some this year.  No Patrica for for the Bills.

BOB did pretty well for awhile.

BOB achieved mediocrity in a weak division, and then became GM and mismanaged them into obscurity.  Great job.  He is Doug Marrone.
