BADOLBILZ Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can he return kicks? 315591 He can return kicks, but he doesn't have the power to break those one or two tackles it takes to make consistently long returns. This pick could also signal the end of Nate's punt return days.
John from Riverside Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I hope you are wrong......I dont know what else to say
Bill from NYC Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 He can return kicks, but he doesn't have the power to break those one or two tackles it takes to make consistently long returns. This pick could also signal the end of Nate's punt return days. 315639 Is he stronger than the guy we had just a few years ago? I forget his name. He had blinding speed but would fall if there was a strong wind....the weakest NFL player I ever saw. Also, how is the TE?
Wiz Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 He can return kicks, but he doesn't have the power to break those one or two tackles it takes to make consistently long returns. This pick could also signal the end of Nate's punt return days. 315639 He returned two kicks for td's last year and averaged over 16 yards per return. WTF do you define as consistent?
jarthur31 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 He is 5' f_ckin 9" and weighs only 170 pounds. He would get killed in flag football. Donahue is a fool. No need for this pick, and nice job with Henry as well. 314813 Quiet you! :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
jarthur31 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I watched Roscoe torch the number one rated D in all of college football last year (N.C.State). You are just a blind and dumb bastard and have no idea what you are talking about. why don't you go jack off and pull for the patriots. Go Bills!!!!! tommy in LA 315199 ROTFLMMFAOSMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I nominate this reply for POST OF THE YEAR! Yay.

BADOLBILZ Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 He returned two kicks for td's last year and averaged over 16 yards per return. WTF do you define as consistent? 315653 Because of Miami's athletic depth, you often see total jailbreaks on returns, especially at home. That's the one area where they were still dominant last year, with Hester as the main return weapon and Roscoe as option 1b. In the NFL, you gotta' be able to shed a would-be tackler now and then. Roscoe is a very poor man's version of Santana Moss. Nowhere near the receiver and not as good in the return game.
Wiz Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I second that nomination. I haven't heard a retort like that since Hank the angry, drunken dwarf passed away.
dave mcbride Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I'm a 'Canes fan, I didn't like Roscoe. He is small, plays small, a miniscule target who drops some easy passes and hasn't any power at all. A heavy breath will knock him to the ground. A couple times, I thought he was killed dead on the field. He lived, but he missed time. The 'Canes are really going thru a down time, simialar to the early 90's, when they can't find good receivers who can actually catch the ball, otherwise Roscoe wouldn't have played much. He became to me, a symbol of the decline of the program this year and I was so looking forward to his graduation. This pick is bad, but consistent with Donahoe's history of drafting small receivers with limited upside like Josh Reed and Troy Edwards. He needs to stay away from those guys and stick more to the dymamic talents like Lee Evans. TD really scared me the other day when he was singing the praises of Josh Reed, who he claimed to have drafted to be a #3 receiver. He spent a very early second rounder on Reed in a decent draft year. The only positives are the fact that it's a dogass draft, and that they didn't trade Travis Henry to draft ROSCOE! 315008 thank you for speaking sense, badol.

Gene Frenkle Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 This pick is bad, but consistent with Donahoe's history of drafting small receivers with limited upside like Josh Reed and Troy Edwards. 315008 ...and Lee Evans, Randle El and Heinz Ward... It's so easy to be a critic when you ignore the positive.

It's a perfect description of a former kick returner on the Bills...Antonio Brown. They are about the same height and weight. This is no knock on Parrish's ability, just his weight. At 168 pounds, he is 10-15 pounds smaller than guys like Santana Moss, Steve Smith & Dante Hall. He will need to put on 15 pounds, if he is going to survive in the NFL. No futher comment on the draft until day 2 is complete.
Mickey Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 i posted that we should go after a WR a few days back. it forces teams to only play 6 or 7 guys in the box and here willis can rush for 2,000 yards against these fronts. WOWOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOW!! roscoe parish is flat out awesome! 314798 It forces nothing of the kind. Teams will be even more motivated to load up close to the line and stop the pass with a pass rush given that our line is likely worse than it was last year. As Bill B. of the Patriots said "that line is for s..t" and now it is even worse with the loss of Jennings. Besides, explain the difference between this guy and Freddie Smith or Santana Moss for that matter. Speedy little recievers are a dime a dozen in this league. Heck, the Arena League is drowning in them.

He breaks a lot of tackles with his speed and low running style.
ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 someone save this post and bring it out in sept when parish is a key player for this team. paris runs a 4.5 - 40 and explodes off the line. he goes OVER THE MIDDLE, which we do not have. he drops no passes. fluid. think on 3rd downs and inthe red zone. josh reed has no speed off the line, he is a good pass route runner - but that was easy to cover. parish is like a little water bug and shifty. think theo flury like. sure he is tiny, but all the teams in the league want sure handed blazers to cut across the cover 2 zones that blanket the post patterns and deep outs by moulds and evans types. think steve smith here, a peanut who can catch 80 balls for 1,300 yards and 10 tds. plus we get a threat on S.T. - ala dante hall for kc. again, our wrs force teams to keep safeties out of the box and let mcgahee break off 5-6 yards chunks. regardless of the line we have, teams can't come at us if we are in 3 WR sets. plus willis can catch in the flats. just a GREAT pick by td, when you think about building around willis and letting JP have targets and knowing that our OL and DL are fine as they are. we replace clements next season with a free agent or draft the corner in 2006. 2005 bills are going to be verticle, willis will have 15 tds, 2, 000 all purpose yards. save this post.
ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 correction - roscoe ran a 4.37 in the 40 - timed by the bills.
BADOLBILZ Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 And I suppose he led the ACC in td receptions because of the athleticism of his teammates also? 315721 But he had the ACC's #1 QB throwing to him Wiz! Brock Berlin. Wasn't Berlin the ACC offensive player of the year? Why, by rights Berlin will be the steal of the draft won't he? Notice how many receivers have been drafted out of the ACC this year? It was a down year for the conference as a whole in terms of junior/senior players and subsequently, pro prospects. As for the special teams thing, if you watched them, you would know. There are times when the 'Canes just blow people up on special teams and it's just a matter of out running a guy or two to put up a score. The 'Canes coaching staff often gets outcoached/gameplanned offensively and defensively on gameday, but it's a lot harder to break them down on special teams because it's more about physical matchups. Unfortunately, on offense, they didn't execute so well, and while Roscoe was their best receiver, he also had his share of drops and plays where he came up short of the sticks on third down or was overthrown because he is such a small target. This was not a dominant player and his upside is limited with durability an issue. To me, you can get return men and scat-type receivers in the later portion of the draft.
ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 think deon branch with this pick. parish can take a 5 yard check down and take it 60 yards. deon branch is IMPOSSIBLE TO COVER because of his size, speed and route running. they run around LBS and safetys like pillons. it was "a down year for big 10 basketball" too, according to the experts. yet msu and illinois did pretty well right? so did wisconsin. each teams needs a slot guy. the faster the better. parish is blazing fast and WILL GO OVER THE MIDDLE. i don't know anyone who says he drops passes. as a senior, he was the 3rd down guru for the 'canes.' looks at moss, coles, steve smith, az hakim, deon branch, troy brown. he is more pollished than dante hall,. parish started at WR for the canes last year and can play in a pro set - on the weak side and will excell in the slot in the national league. very valuable player, especially when you have two prototypical stretch WRS like an older moulds and evans. But he had the ACC's #1 QB throwing to him Wiz! Brock Berlin. Wasn't Berlin the ACC offensive player of the year? Why, by rights Berlin will be the steal of the draft won't he?
