My brother (who was 10) and I remember him for one reason. We were at my Uncle Jack's for a Sunday family get together and we went in to watch the season opener in '69. My Uncle, a man of fewer words than even my father, walked into the living room, looked at us for what seemed like at least 15 seconds with a grin on his face and summarily announced "Remember this name............Preston Ridlehuber..." He then departed. So much for his (what we assumed to be) prediction of greatness, other than the halfback option play he threw to beat the Patriots that year. But because of that seemingly momentous pronouncement, his name has never escaped us. 😆 Edited November 13, 2020 by BuffaloBob 1
boater Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Maybe not the best, but certainly the most unsung: Robb Riddick. When he came in for short yardage, he always got it. I also am a fan of WR Steve Tasker's work on special teams.
JohnnyK Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 How about the LB who always filled in for Conlan when he was hurt?!!!! I don't remember his name and it's not worth googling! please help me out! I'm Going back to watch the end of the game someone posted above.

Not the biggest surprised to me whatsoever that Roland Hooks was in on the second response. He was my first thought. I also would consider Robb Riddick.

Bad Things Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 For me, I instantly think of Kenny Davis. 1

He reminds me of "Moonlight" Graham from the Field of Dreams...he got in 1 game with the Redskins in 2003 and completed a single pass for 7 yards...that was the only game he played in and only pass he ever completed in an NFL game....

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Not sure anyone remembers Marcus Price. He was our backup swing tackle back around 2002ish, and I used to love him. anytime he came in the game, I had total confidence in him.

We desperately needed a win against the Pats to keep our slim playoff hopes alive. But our offense sputtered. Only able to find the endzone once all day (an 11 yard Fergie to Hooks connection), we were losing 17-13 with less than a minute left. The Pats faced a 4th and 2 in Buffalo territory and decided to go for it. After all they had Sam "the Bam" Cunningham in the backfield - the league's best short yardage specialist. If they made the first down, game over. The Bills were out of time outs. If they didn't make the first down, the Bills were unlikely to score with mere seconds left on a ticking clock. The Bills D stuffs Cunningham. 35 seconds left. 73 yards to go. We've got the ball - but very little hope. Then Roland Hooks happens. Here's the Youtube vid. For a great Bills treat, just watch the end of the game from about 2:34 on. Maybe the best 35 seconds of game time in Bills history. I was there...but was walking out in the parking lot when I heard the big roar. Yes, I did finally watch this video and saw what I missed. 1
