Ramza86 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Assuming Josh continues his great QB play throughout this year and next year....what is he going to fetch? I can imagine its going to be near 40 million a year. Good lord thats a lot of money. Pay it. lol
buffalo2218 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I’ve been wondering this myself. There is the fact that he seems to have really settled in with this team and the fan base. I don’t think he would try for something outrageous like Mahomes got. He’s smart enough to understand that investing a ton of money in to one player would hurt a team. 1

I think I heard the Mahomes deals actually has a lot of leeway to adjust his contract in order to make cap room for future players. I imagine we would be thinking of something like this. 1
badassgixxer05 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 They have to pay him whatever it takes to keep him here. The last 25 years that we endured should be enough evidence to show management that Great QBs don't grow on trees. Once on that big contract, have make sure we are hitting on all of our draft picks.!

JMF2006 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I think he is the type of player that will take a team friendly deal and not pull a Dak. 3
Virgil Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I think the Bills will make him a fair offer for his value. I don't see there being a big negotiation process. If it's in after next season, I think it starts at 40 mil, assuming the cap doesn't go down 1
Doc Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I also think he would take a discount. But he's got an agent...
Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 He will settle for nothing less than #2 money. He will want more than Wilson and Watson but settle for less than Mahomes.
Greg S Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 In a normal year the league makes about 15-16 billion a year in revenue. This isn't a normal year obviously. The Cap will either remain flat or go down. Josh seems like the type of player to take a discount so the Bills have more money to build the roster but who knows. I am sure Mahomes is glad he got the deal he did because I don't think he would get that now despite him being a great player. I could see Josh taking a short term deal and then when things get back to normal (hopefully) then really cashing in on his next contract.
Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 The big question will be do the Bills take a chance and push off the extension until after the fourth year. They have the leverage of the 5th year option. With COVID-19 the cap may stay flat or fall and it might be advantageous for both parties to wait another year.
ColoradoBills Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Spotrac has Josh Allen's market value right at 40 million per. I think the only big decision or surprise if you will is going to be the length of the contract. i would think it's at least 5 years and maybe even 6.
Billsfan1972 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Why do I care? Finally a top 8 QB (maybe top 5)......😜 1
Houston's #1 Bills Fan Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I love how people indicate that Josh "seems" to be the type that would take a discount. But, we really don't know. I certainly hope that he is and that playing for Buffalo is the only thing he cares about. We all love those stories of "hell, I'd play for free, just don't tell them that!" But, that's not reality. All in all, I hope that he gets a fair deal that he likes and that doesn't preclude us from still obtaining good talent in free agency. 2 1
Rigotz Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Am I the only person that doesn't want to talk about his contract yet? We have several threads on this. According to the CBA he can't get a new contract until next year... then he gets paid $7M ... then he has his 5th year option ... then we can talk contract. Just enjoy it for now. Enough about the contract. 1
Rock'em Sock'em Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 2021 - Under rookie contract 2022 - 5th year option 2023 - Guessing the franchise tag will be around $35M+, hard to say. If the level of his play continues to escalate, I'd hope a 5-year $200M contract extension starting in 2023 mostly guaranteed would be about right and would allow Josh to hit FA at least one more time while still in his prime. 1
thebandit27 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 If it’s anything under 40 AAV you sprint to the printer
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 W/o major restructuring there is no cap space to pay him big bucks in 2021. sure they can extend give him a new contract Again there is no cap space in 2021.
aristocrat Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 10 years 425 mil. unless he wins the superbowl and it that case its the mahomes deal 2
