BillnutinHouston Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 OP, what exactly are you asking fans to do? I did give to Oshei....anything else I'm supposed to do?

Might help to know what you are talking about before posting. But that would severely limit the number of new threads he can start..... 1

Everyone in favor say Ay, Ay, AY, AY, AY. The Ayes have it. Moving on, please. Some people have no notion of the CBA, the common sense of just waiting on two more years of cheap labor especially until we are one year past the Covid Cap, and oh by the way we have to pay others. Once we lock him up it’s $40 mil./yr. and hamstrings us. In the world of bad ideas, I can’t believe this one was maybe good natured as you love Allen and god bless, but not rational in the slightest. He will be a very rich man genrationally in 2022, and is Worth it. 1

T master Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Wow this sounds like a replay of when they gave Fitz all that cash then he fell apart . Let's let him prove that he can produce like he did yesterday all the time and do it against a top 10 D . I'm not saying he didn't look great the other day but given what he has as weapons he should be able to do what he did against the Hawks almost when ever he wants to or with at least more consistency . The Bills have jumped the gun before and seeing as they have time to let him prove on the field he is the guy lets just let it play out there's no rush he ain't going no where ...
machine gun kelly Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 They can’t per the CBA so this is a moot point.

While the Op started a pretty needless thread please do not compare Fitz (as much as I like him) to Josh Allen. It's apples and cantaloupes.

The quicker you get in (if you know he's the guy, of course) the cheaper the price tag is. What would it cost to re-sign him now, versus what would it cost if he were to go out and win the Super Bowl this year? Not saying he's going to, but you can see how that value can balloon.

billsfan89 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Josh has 2 years (including the 5th year option) remaining on his contract. Considering the 2021 possible cap crunch. I would make sense to extend him after 2021 where the team can spread out some of his money by putting some on the front end increasing his 5th year option cap number 8-10 million to ease the cap number a bit when the main extension comes in. Either way I am happy to just have what appears to be a franchise QB.

The Fitz 2011 comparisons are very flawed. The Bills bought high right before the stock dropped. But Josh is a blue chip prospect who has improved every single year. The Bills are also under zero pressure to extend Josh right now. Let him play out the back 7 games and get a full picture before you land on a final number.
