Tipster19 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 The kid has given everything he’s got to this franchise, now it’s time to reciprocate. He’s the perfect fit for this organization and fan base. Let’s go Buffalo!!!
NickelCity Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 It's very clearly not time due to the timeline of his contract. You just trying to spice up the middle of the week? 2 3
DrDawkinstein Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 It's against CBA rules to negotiate a contract until 3 seasons have been completed. We legally cannot re-sign him until this season is over. 13 1 2
RoyBatty is alive Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 It is always great timing to bring this up after J Allen has a near record setting day against arguably the worst pass defense in the NFL. Lets not be over emotional over one game, lets at least wait till the end of the year, he has another year left on his rookie contract than when we can start to worry. 2

wvbillsfan Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Makes no sense. You’ve got two more years cheap labor. Then a franchise tag you can use if needed. Let the salary cap settle for this 2020 fiasco.
DieHardBillsFan Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 He will. Cool your cats. There is a strategy to drafting a QB and being able to have nice cap room. Its a luxury that the Bills shouldn't just throw away. If he wins a SB with a team that they may not be able to keep if he is paid the big bucks, then he will get even more once he is signed. He is in a good place to only get a bigger contract. No rush needed.
thebandit27 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 He literally can’t sign a new deal before March per the CBA. 2

A lot can change within the next two and a half seasons. If he's a bonafide elite quarterback, we will know it by then and we will pay him. Right now, if we pay him, we'll probably still have to pay him elite QB money. So for absolutely no reason, you want us to lock in Josh Allen right now? No. 1
Devilmann Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Salary cap is going to be way less next season due to COVID-19 so why on earth would it make sense to extend him after this season? If you want the best chance at a super bowl it’s in the next 2 years when his contract is still “cheap”.

No. Yep, do the same thing we did with White and the Texans did with Watson. Pick up the 5th year option and negotiate an EXTENSION onto the end of the original 5 year rookie deal.
Big Turk Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Umm...by the terms of the CBA hey are not allowed to until after his 3rd season. That is what they are waiting on. Might help to know what you are talking about before posting.
Don Otreply Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Middle to end of next season, if he continues to perform well, never spend large money when motivated by emotional impulses, it is strictly a business decision, can’t be to careful when dropping hundreds of millions of dollars, jmo.., Go Bills!!!
