I think he plays a good role in our offense.  He's great on Jet sweeps and his hands are pretty reliable.  Good after the catch too.

I think he's a very solid #5.

Depending on the price, I’d strongly consider bringing him back

I think with the lower cap guys like him and Roberts (basically specialists) will be signed for veteran minimum and will want to stick in a good situation as opposed to moving elsewhere

No contract with guarantees........just basically another roster invite like he has been getting.

Gotta' open up a roster spot for a deep threat to supplement and eventually replace John Brown.

With Brown hobbled this year they have really lacked that 9 route specialist.

Gabe Davis hopefully turns into a very good #2 WR but he doesn't have the deep speed to be that guy........they've tried and he can't get the CB off his hip.

That deep guy doesn't have to be a #1 or #2 but preferably he is fast and at least over 6' and can track the deep ball.

he is a jag. him coming back is fine but hes a 1-3 mil guy not a guy you pay alot for. he has shown wonderful improvement this year

I’m torn. I don’t think he’s a bad player, but I also think he’s pretty easily replaced and maybe even upgraded with a low pick in the draft. This offseason will be pretty unpredictable for tons of reasons and I don’t think any of us will win the “what will Beane do” pool.

He plays a specific role in this offense that they value. What exact improvements were you looking for? If you ever think he is going to be a 60 catch 700 yard guy you are simply not understanding how they want to use him.

He may already be replaced (Hodgins) who had a solid camp. Granted that doesn't mean much.

I'm also in favor of bringing McKenzie back at a low salary, but yea, if he's not back it's not a very big hole to fill.

I love the kid.  Great fit in the locker room.  Great fit considering his skill set. Some might not like the jet sweep and having him in motion, but I love it.  Just the threat of it can create other openings on the field.  I’d put him in motion more than they currently do

I like him, but think we should draft a speed WR early.   If we do, that likely means he takes McKenzie’s role.

It’s quite obvious how important speed opposite Diggs is in this offense with Allen’s arm.   If Brown misses any time, as we’ve seen, we don’t really have anyone to play that role.

I think he fits in well with our WR group - they all have a role

Yeah, can't imagine him getting much more than 1 per year without proving he can return punts/kicks.  He's an interesting gadget player, and he has pretty good hands... But no ones breaking the bank for 5'8 WRs.

Yes because he plays his role well but might be able to replicate in the draft

I think the move is sign him to a market rate deal but with minimal guarantee and then if a guy falls to you who you think can upgrade in the draft you pick him.

If we are going to be a 4 wides team at the frequency we have been this year this FO better be ready to pick a receiver somewhere in the first 4 rounds every single draft. The Pittsburgh model. Never stop stocking the position.

Hodgins does not fit McKenzie's role at all.  Hodgins is basically a slower Gabe Davis.  He's tall, not very fast, good routes, good hands and can get up to high point the ball.  You will never see Hodgins running a jet sweep or screen.
