Because what/who else do they really have that was good or popular in their overall trash history? He called his shot and got it done in a huge media market, credit to him. Of course he walked away a hero. Since him? Idk, Al Toon? Joe Klecko? Ken O’Brien? Boomer Esiason? Hooray? Can’t cast stones though, we have the 60’s & the 90’s (and possibly the 2020’s) with huge gaps of nothing in between.
thenorthremembers Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 The Jets are a terrible organization, but the Belichick stuff was 100% on Belichick. No one forced him into being the coach. He willingly entered into a stupid scheme Parcells and the Jets owner cooked up. I think Belichick is a great football mind and historian, but I also think he is an elitist jerk who road Brady's coattails in the best days of his career. Just finished Belichick by Ian O'Connor, and it solidified my belief about Belichick, he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. There was a quote from him from the Saban Belichick HBO special that showed his true colors "When the average guy is home watching football, drinking his beer and eating his tostitos..." just not a very good guy.
