Josh Allen’s grandmother died night before Seattle game [Update] The Patricia Allen Wing at Oshei is now open!

Message added by Hapless Bills Fan

If any of you care to donate in honor of Josh's Grandmother, here is the donation link:

https://www.kaleidahealth.org/foundations/childrens/donate/index.asp?robot=true

They've added a donation button for $17 in Zubaz colors 😛

Can’t believe that the national (football and otherwise) press has been so slow on the uptake here...for example ESPN still running the “over $34K” number...

This is the most recent I’ve found this afternoon, and it’s nice, but please will “someone who tweets” please inform this writer for CBS that Josh didn’t throw for “over 300 yards on Sunday”...?!  And include some of the aforementioned (here somewhere) stats on just how rare his two 400+ yard/3 TD passes/0 INT games in one season really are?!  And, by obvious inference, how amazing his performance was, especially given the circumstances? Thank you in advance...!

Also, have to mention that I’m surprised that we’re not well past the “done” posts in this thread.  I wanna’ hear how many other folks you’ve turned on to this steamroller...it only takes 59 more x $17 to = $1K!!

Also (again), when I gave my $17 pittance yesterday, I couldn’t help but notice that on the Oishoi site, they made mention of “our 3 year birthday”.  Due to my lengthy (physical) absence from WNY, I wasn’t aware of their new building, etc.  It was cause for me to look up some stuff; I learned a lot about our fair town’s history of caring by great women, and a notable man, too!

I gave last night - definitely felt good, God Bless all the people who need the hospital services - can't imagine anything tougher than a child with a serious illness.

They may be working on it, but a counter would defnitely be a good thing.  Think it would spur more donations as people see the total real-time and work to make it grow.

I can’t tell.  Did Josh or a young patient at the hospital draw that?

I would love it if we have a home playoff game and somebody does that drawing with appropriate (large) scale for stadium exposure.

Always proud to be a Bills fan, and proud that my kids, who were born in San Francisco during the 49ers run, are as well.

Counter is a good idea.  How about with $17 donation buttons for all 32 teams?  See if the Seahawks crowd can step up first.... I’m assuming a sizable chunk of that fan-base consider themselves ‘progressive’....:-)

Edit: Needlessly snarky on my part, apologies.  Just getting carried away thinking how truly huge this could get with a little NFL-wide competition!!

Yeah, I think that would tarnish a spontaneous outpouring of goodwill for Josh and his family myself.

The other 32 teams can quietly contribute if they want, but if they want to show their colors let them do their own thing in their own way, no need to butt into our bizness

I've been trying the link at the top of the page all day today with no luck from a range of different devices/networks.

Can any of the other UK based posters confirm if they have been able to donate? I'm starting to wonder if there is some geotagging security on the website.

Cheers in advance.

It doesn’t work outside of the US and Canada.

The hospital has put out their phone number a few times if you’re outside of those areas and want to donate they’re allowing calls.

Hopefully this helps!

Thanks for that, much appreciated. I thought I was going insane!

I'll look into other methods then, tomorrow.  I've ruled out walking and swimming over.

I sent the links I posted above to a couple buddies, one of whom wrote back to say that the links all came up blocked.  Sure enough, turns out he’s back in Vienna... surprising to me ‘cuz we’ve shared plenty of links before when he was over there, just not about football, or Buffalo.  Way beyond my ken to figure out...

My good friend Rob told me about it on Sunday. It helped explain Allen's magnificent performance. What a great tribute 👏 to his grandma. She's very proud. It reminded me of a XC race I ran on a frigid November 7th day 28 years ago for my grandfather. I gave my best effort for him. Kudos to the loyal and outstanding Two Bills Mafia community on every donation. You are a true extended family. Buffalo has great and passionate fans who deserve the year they're having. Keep it going.

really good points on the 0-5-6 defense, dan!.... they didnt let ya get a lot of words in! LOL.

Funny you caught that Stank.  I didn’t mind, just they had to go to break, but never replied to my couple of points.  Kind of the reason t9 call in toget their points of view as I like the guys on this station.  If you ever listen to MTC, Pat and Mills always do. One of the many reasons they are the best as you feel like you’re having a conversation.  Makes it worth the wait when you have the time.

There are also these things called VPNs, which are a good idea to install on your mobile devices and laptop computers for security when you're using WiFi networks that may be secured only God-Knows-How in coffee shops and libraries and so on....I have heard 🙄 it's possible to make it appear that you are anywhere in the world by this means.  Just use a credit card with no international transaction fees and perchance let your credit card company know you will have a legit transaction coming through from Uzbehkistan or wherever.  We have good luck using NordVPN - for SECURITY purposes of course.

Hopefully we Bills fans can look forward to other magnificent performances in other, happier weeks.

It is over $260,000 grand.  I think someone must have made a large donation.

I just happened to check too.

It's up to $275,730 with 14,604 donations.

That averages $18.88 per donation.

Oshei Children's is now located across the street from Roswell Park and Buffalo General Hospitals. For those of you no longer in wNY, Roswell built a new  hospital about 15-20 years ago, All three are  connected on the second floors.  UB also relocated the Med School  there (may also be connected) and there are a bunch of biomed companies that sprung up.
