If it was just a strain he wouldn't need IR. He will need surgery for a real repair. I think they are just hoping he heels up somewhat so they can get a few more snaps out of him later this year. But don't be surprised if he has surgery and is done for the year. Most likely? Milano said himself that it is partially torn. Which is the same as a strain as has been pointed out. Partial tears don’t need surgery. So yes i would be surprised if he had it without reason. A partial tear is 2-6 weeks. He “needs” IR because They tried to ease him back with limited practice and game snaps but they’ve seen he’s not playing effectively or enough to warrant the roster spot right now and we can activate philips in his spot while he rests it and comes back later for the stretch run and playoffs, hopefully in his regular role. Big Turk Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 (edited) Should have done this from the beginning...likely he was either not making progress healing playing limited snaps or it was getting worse which meant the only option was to IR him and let him heal up fully...now has 3 weeks plus the bye to get healthy...
