Trump is a chess player. Its now clear his strategy was to tell his base to vote on election day and avoid mail in ballots, so that on the actual election day, he would run up a lead in key states, all so he could rush and claim victory before the mail in votes get counted, and make public claims that the election was would be attempted to be stolen by democrats. The same claim he already let be known he would make months ago. He knew the mail in votes would diminish the election day leads he would obviously have. How did he know? Because of the pre election polls clearly showed Biden was the favorite. He did the exact same thing in 2016 when the pre election polls predicted he would lose, he came out saying he would be cheated by fraud with zero evidence. Then he won,  and all of a sudden the only fraud was with the popular vote since he lost that. When Donald Trump wins its all good, if he loses its fraud. He knows his base are sheeple and will believe whatever he says. He would rather see violence erupt in this country than bow out gracefully. The so called law & order president.

How grown adult human beings can't logically see whats going and instead act like Jim Jones followers, is beyond me and quite frankly very very sad.

I am disturbed because even some people I know who are leaders, not at all known to be idiots, have fallen so much that they literally agree with and defend Trumps every word and action. Defending a man who the vast majority of Americans would not want their children emulating, yet still has 47% of America's support.

I beg of you Truml supporters to snap out of it. Examine yourself to find the root of why you would want this type of person to be the leader of this great country. At least 4 million Americans want Biden to be the president over Trump. I know the popular vote doesn't pick the president but can you Trump supporters at least aknowlege and admit that MORE AMERICANS DONT WANT TRUMP THEN THOSE WHO DO? Or did democrats manufacture millions of fake votes? Let's be real guys.

Be your own person. Open your eyes and see reality before you. Don't be a minion that goes with whatever another man says without using your own brain and seeing things for what they really are. Trump supporters, like us all, knew that if Trump would pull this crap. He told us ahead of time. Its a damn shame the wool so many allow to be pulled over their eyes. Again...its disturbing and its very very sad.

Its ok to agree with a candidate's policies, but also be able to stand up, as a sensible grown American, with some sort of damn integrity, and say hey, this man is not fit to be leader of this country. He has some good ideas but is a liar who can't accept defeat of any kind. He is willing to put the future of this country on the line just so he can claim victory.

Bottom line is...he claims fraud but the only real fraud here is him. All you Trump supporters should wake up, don't be like that dude, and be able to admit you were wrong. Did I vote for Biden as much as I voted against Trump? No. I can be clear headed and admit things. Try it...it feels great. But that's the position I was forced into. I actually value THE TRUTH...and things like INTEGRITY still matter to me. That is more important than the economy or anything else! Once I see you currently have little integrity and are a liar...anything else you are talking about means much of nothing to me. I wish so many Americans weren't willing to disregard those oh so important characteristics. As a black man in America, seeing 47% of America supported this crap tells me things are even worse than what I thought. These are very sad sad days in America. You folks who claim you live this country need to wake tf up!

I think the precedent from 2016 is to do the following:

A. Question foreign influences the outcome .

B. Spend the next 4 years trying to find grounds to impeach

C. Start a radical group to get your point across.

We'll see what the high road is.

I do have to say the strategy to offset Trump's planned declaration of victory from the early vote was both ingenious and hilarious. They just *****ing ignored him and carried on with the work that needed to be done.

What....I thought Trump won? He said so?

Of course he did.  And he'll probably write a book explaining how he won, but the office was stolen from him.  And he'll probably plagiarize large swathes of it from "What Happened?"

Biden won. No problem. I find it hilarious that the left managed to vote in a guy with an absolutely horrendous record on minorities. Four years of calling trump supporters kkk and now they can actually point to you that Biden has destroyed minority communities. And the only excuse you have is that Biden apologized.  He said sorry so it’s all ok.   How about you apologize for four years of throwing out baseless racist claims?   True colors have been shown

Trump

It really is that simple.  Biden got elected by a narrow margin because the alternative was Trump.  Just as Trump was elected by a narrow margin because the alternative was Hillary.

Maybe - and I'm just spitballing here - both parties should start running real, actual, mature human beings, and stop this ridiculous race to the bottom.

And hey,

A. Maybe it will lead to as many indictments as the Mueller investigation. Unfortunately, the Biden campaign didn’t do anything that we know of to seek support of a foreign country.

B. Biden’s probably not as dumb as Trump to just give them grounds to impeach like Trump did. Don’t forget McConnell said we will do everything in our power to make Obama a one term President. Dems never did that to Trump.

C. That again was precedent set in 2008 with the Tea Party

I mean...it's funny, but sad at the same time, as it shows how effective the news media's gaslighting really was.

yes, because several people aren’t in jail right now (or released due to Cornavirus) due to the Mueller investigation.

Oh wait, there are multiple people in jail from Mueller investigation. That’s not even like fake news. These are people waking up behind bars.

Thanks for  playing

A. Time will tell. It seems there are a lot of questionable activities Hunter was involved in. Precedent says they must be investigated to the fullest at the expense of taxpayers.

B. Biden isn't dumb,  he's just mentally deficient.  He's one sneeze away from assisted living.  Then entire left and mainstream medias agenda from day 1 was to ensure Trump didn't get a second term. Surely if it wasn't explicitly said it was the objective, and why not. The objective is to win.

C. Show me an instance where the Tea Party looted businesses, assaulted opposing views, or vandalized and burned cities.

A. Great whataboutism. Trump before 2016 led crowds with Lock Her Up chants. GOProjection is a thing and it’s here.

B. So you’re saying Dems are smarter than Republicans. Alright, I’ll agree with you

C. The Tea Party held the entire country hostage over the debt ceiling.  They have done more harm to the country than a couple broke windows in a riot. At least when the left is rioting now it’s about equality and not things like losing the Stanley Cup to the Bruins

The problem is that it's not "the parties" that decide who runs for POTUS.  Back in the 1960s, the state party insiders pretty much decided on which candidates that the states would support at the national conventions, but in the 1970s that changed due to the upheavals caused by the Vietnam War, the student protests, and civil rights movement.   State primary elections selected national convention delegates pledged to specific presidential candidates while "special delegates" picked by party leaders shrank in number and influence or disappeared altogether.   Today, in most states, it's rank-and-file members of the state political parties who decide which candidates get state delegates.  That's more democratic, but it also makes it "base" voters -- rank and file party members who come out to vote in primaries -- very powerful, and many of those party members tend to be closer to the ideological wings of the parties than to the center.

A. Not familiar with "whataboutism"...but fair is fair. Trump did say these things pre election which didn't require taxpayers to fund the any type of investigation

B. No. Please elaborate. Im saying that if mental capacity is a factor,  you can't possibly believe Biden is sharper than Trump. Sure you may hate the guy and think he's a dick, but in your heart of hearts you can't possibly think Biden is nothing but a puppet. For Christ sakes, his own president didn't endorse him until there was no other option.

C.  A few broken windows? This is just ☝ city. If this is how we deal with adversity then buckle up

a very thought provoking post and plea Hustle I appreciate it. As I was reading it I could hear echos of Trump supporters Ive both read and know personally ringing in my ears the following in response to what you wrote (highlighted) Ditto Muppy but with regards to Joe Biden we want that from you. Each and every point I highlighted that is their percepton towards we folks who don't buy into Donald Trump and support Biden. This board illustrated it perfectly especially before the exodus.  That is the sad state of political affairs in this country. Echo chambers are about the only expression that doesnt cause trolling divisiveness and ridicule. I think it is predisposed to people who chat in political forums especially. So many right fighters,..... who is delusional and who is not. Who sees the truth and who does not. Its based on what side of the aisle you happen to sit and strength exists in numbers within each forums predominant political persuasion thats the way it goes. I dont see it changing and one echo chamber replaced with another unless you want fighting name calling and ridicule. Even expressing this I'll be labeled a snowflake. I rarely chat in political chats not because I dont have views and opinions I just dont like being disparaged for what those thoughts and ideas are. No one person is going to change the mind of any other poster in these forums. its a futile exercise. Thats my cynical opinion. I appreciate the thoughts though.

Whataboutism gets its name from the soviet tactic for dealing criticism of its many, many crimes.  Example

American: The soviet union deliberately starved 3 million ukrainians to death in the Holodomor, shot 16,000 Polish POWs in the Katyn Forest, and kept master pedophile Lavrenti Beria around as head of security.

Soviet: Whatabout the blacks you lynch?

In formal logic, this is called the "You Also!" Fallacy. Two people can do things that are bad.  One person can steal a piece of candy, another can set a stray cat on fire.  Just because both things are bad does not make them equally bad.

Why it works is it turns an argument about morality into an argument about hypocrisy.  Pointing out that someone is a hypocrite has everything to do with there character, and nothing to do with how true their statement is.  But being able to call your opponent a hypocrite using "whataboutism" puts them on the back foot and starts a new discussion that buries the original point.  Instead, you get a pissing contest where you defeat the argument by making your opponent look bad instead of refuting his facts or dissecting his reasoning.

I agree with you 100% OP. However, please tell me you weren’t one of the “RUSSIA!!!  RUSSIA!!!” blathering conspiracy theorists in 2016?

Was it not proven? I mean you do have plenty of Republicans behind bars and the only reason it didn't go further was because Mueller didn't want to set a precedent.

Neither here or nor at this point. Dems were upset when Clinton lost; they didn't start trying to gun up voting centers or start protests outside. The dems responded with pettiness. It's time that people come together and the only way I see that happening is by passing a law what centralizes News networks and talk shows (and things like Facebook feeds). I'm serious. People are settling into groups because they only know one side. I'll always remember when Jack Abramoff was arrested and Fox News didn't even cover it. But republicans are drawn to that because so many news outlets are personalities are openly democrat. Hell of the three Late Night personalities the only one that doesn't come off as super liberal is Jimmy Fallon (and he is definitly left leaning)
