A lot of underneath stuff for the most part. His best throw was  an incompletion to Geisiki on deep shot.

His deep ball accuracy is what got him drafted as high as he did.

That passing game looks more college-y than most, which I guess is expected.

Yea but did you see that deep throw to Geisiki? That was elite.

Just not a fan and have never been as an NFL prospect. He must overcome being less than ideal height along with a lesser arm talent. He is not a great athlete and has been somewhat injury prone. I thought his ball placement would be better and even that was not very good but I would expect that portion of his game to improve. Overall, I'm not worried at all about Tua and in fact I am thrilled the Dolphins have decided to hitch their wagon to him for the next year or two at the least. What I am worried about is Lawrence ended up with the Jets as that could be a gamechanger in the division. Let's hope he stays in school another year to avoid the Jets.

Burrow and Herbert scare me a lot more than Tua ever will.  Tua was a reach, and I really don't think he'll ever pan out, which is unfortunate if that's actually the case.  He's such a humble kid.

Thanks for posting.  Not a great highlight reel for his first game. Really off wort most of his passes.  Surprises he didn’t get picked off more or get one of his receivers killed

As an aside, the NFL Network showed two pictures of the field-level thermometers yesterday.  On the Miami side, it was 80 degrees.  On the Rams side, it was 120 degrees.  Rex Ryan said, I think it was him, that Miami has the greatest home field advantage in the NFL because of the temperature and humidity, especially early in the season.

Heard something interesting on Buffalo Beat podcast, they said they heard the reason that Tua is starting so early in the year 1 is that because they have the Texans 1st pick they want to try to make a quick evaluation on him if they need to be in the qb market in the 2021 draft.

Interesting if true.

Tua is the real deal

The podcast may have stolen that from an article I read earlier.  Not only do they have Houston #1, but also their 2nd round.  Thought they may even have an extra 2022 pick too.  So they have many picks that they could trade to move up assuming  they can find a partner.  But like Buffalo two years ago, they are winning too much to have a real good pick so will see how it works out.

Tua can change my mind ... as he continues to play. But right now I’m glad that out of the highly drafted rookies, he’s the one in our division instead of Burrow and Herbert. As of now, the Fish have had no answer for Allen defensively either.

I don't remember if they cited anything but they definitely didn't claim it was their own thought.

Honestly, Tua starting is the reason I don't fear the Dolphins this year. It feels like they're playing a longer game in hopes they hit with Tua and can be a dominant team in a year or two, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't struggle the rest of the way. That said, I've been surprised before. However, you're not going to have many games where you can win when you get under 150 yards offense while your defense gives up 400 yards.

I guess their #1 offseason priority will be to replace Williams at WR.  He makes Zay Jones look like Larry Fitzgerald in his prime.  Also Miami had 145 yards of total offense.  They won’t get many more wins with that kind of production.

I haven't seen the game yet.  But when I looked at the stats, I'm like "how on earth did Miami win that?"

I mean, if someone told you the following:

Passing yds 90

Rush yards   55

First downs   8

3rd down conv 25%

Time of possession 23:31

You'd be like "They lost, Right?"

Same here.  I was excited when they drafted him.  I think he can be a quality NfL QB.  I just don’t see a guy that I’m going to be scared to play.  I’ll take JA over him any day

This is lazy.  Trevor Lawrence is a better NFL prospect than Tua, no doubt.  But they way you just described Tua is exactly how a lot of people described Drew Brees... and Tua's college film is far more impressive.  His accuracy/touch is elite.  Not saying he's guaranteed to be an NFL star but to be that dismissive this early is short sighted.
