Thurman's Helmet Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I like what Cleveland has done with Braylon Edwards, S Brodney Pool and QB Charlie Frye NE must not have seen too much value in the 2nd round trading out with Baltimore. And I do think OG/OT Logan Mankins will be an impact player. Not a superstar but then again, thats not the Pats way. Lunch pail guys all the way.
Albany,n.y. Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Andrew Walter goes to the perfect team for him -Raiders
Campy Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I can't believe we wasted a 2nd round pick on a 5'10", 170 lb WR who only got a 10 on the Wonderlic test. 315049 What kind of wonderlic would you like in a player whose job it is to stretch the field on O and return punts?
Mickey Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Or maybe the best available LT (Terry), DT (Hawthorne) and C (Brown) all have third round grades. 314967 scratch Terry
eball Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Here is the ESPN/Scouts write-up on Roscoe. Note the bold statements. However, Parrish has the potential to develop into a sure-handed and shifty slot receiver that can also contribute as a punt return specialist. i think this is the statement that best applies to the pick.
Mr. Sparkle Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Gil Brandt on Roscoe Parrish 314975 http://www.sptimes.com/2004/11/13/Sports/H..._a_name_f.shtml According to the above article, Roscoe couldn't even hold down a punt return position at the college level. Nice. Quote - When the ball's in the air and Hester is back on the return team, "you know something is going to happen," said receiver Roscoe Parrish, who lost his job as UM's No. 1 punt returner to Hester.
Navy Chief Navy Pride Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 good place for him Felon goes to Phelons 315094
Arkady Renko Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 good place for him 315100 Cecil Collins?
Pac_Man Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 What kind of wonderlic would you like in a player whose job it is to stretch the field on O and return punts? 315076 I'd like him to be smart enough to run the right route. The Patriots put a high value on intelligent players, and they've done okay with that drafting philosophy.
stevewin Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Just got back from dinner. I know it doesn't matter - but I also am curious what the guys on ESPN said about the pick. I caught the tail end of guys on ESPN radio who thought it was a good pick. Can someone objectively report what the guys doing coverage on ESPN said? Also - what noteworthy picks were left at that point (like Mel's top remaining prospects)?
Clockwork Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Hawthorne still around.... Hope he makes it to 86
BRH Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Just got back from dinner. 315117 I can't say for sure because I was putting the kids to bed, but I thought I saw a pick or two before the Bills picked that Parrish was the fourth best-available guy on Mel's list.
Campy Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I'd like him to be smart enough to run the right route. The Patriots put a high value on intelligent players, and they've done okay with that drafting philosophy. 315114 So someone who doesn't test well in a test primarily consisting of abstract puzzle solving is not smart enough to run the right route? That's quite a leap. I don't care what any other team has done, but I'd rather have a guy that can make plays over one who can solve insignificant riddles in an insignificant test. When guys get yardage based on points in tests I'll change my opinion, but as long as the game is a game of emotion and physical ability, I'll tend to discount mental acuity - especially in a player who's not asked to QB the offense.
JarHeadJim Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 Eagles take a running back.............Travis is staying
Tux of Borg Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Parrish is a smaller receiver with great hands. He use to run the crossing route at Miami and would get absolutely leveled. Tough kid, great hands, goodbye Josh Reed.
Clockwork Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Eagles drafted Moats. T Henry will be a Bill next year. 8 picks away from our 3rd.
Clockwork Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 TH will be a bill next year???? 315146 Seems to be the case. All of the teams that were rumored to be in the TH sweepstakes drafted a RB.
