When are they dropping Madden's name from the game? He'll probably be gone from MNF when it moves to ESPN, and since EA bought the rights, they could call it MadBuffaloDisease 2007 and it would sell like crazy. And I'd only require a modest fee.

They'll probably keep his name on the game indefinitely. Same as the LA Dodgers and LA Lakers keeping names just for the sake of having them, even if they don't really make sense.

Possibly, but with changing the franchise names, you'd need to destroy tons of merchandise and retool everything. With Madden you simply remove the name from the packaging and instructions, and his audio from the game.

From EA Sports' website: "See the Next Generation of Madden NFL Preview the amazing graphics and groundbreaking gameplay of Madden NFL on the next generation of consoles, in an exclusive commercial available here for a limited time only!" If you look at the madden 2006 site, its different, not the "Next Gen". Although they do have a couple of cool features with QBs and passing for 2006 on the website that they announced

That is for the new consoles coming out in 2006. And, they are artist interpretations of what is POSSIBLE with these new consoles. But in an interview, the artists said they think the graphics on the new games will even better than they showed.

Disappointing really, as they could do graphics that well right now on the PC, but they choose to develop for consoles. Oh well, next year's version of madden will have improvements I'm sure graphically, but I doubt it will be anything NEAR what they showed. It will probably take a number of years for EA to get it looking like that, more like 07/08.

Chances are they were showing opening movie/cut-scene animations which always look better than in-game. Did anyone notice at the end of the commercial when the receiver lays out to catch the ball in the endzone, he traps the ball on the ground? Then the official comes in and calls it a touchdown. Typical EA!!! I laughed my arse of.

The graphics engines on both XBox and PS2 are close to maxxed already
CCLXXIX Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Those image/video are "visual targets" for the next gen systems, with Xbox 360 being the first next gen console to drop this year. PS3 and Nintendo Revolution will hit in 2006. We'll see how close they can come and how powerful the next Xbox will be @ E3.
