No Brady, no Gilmore, no Edelman, all the missing pieces on Defense... That’s not progress.  That’s not taking a step toward being a legitimate playoff team.  Isn’t that what this year is about?  They’re not going anywhere playing like this.  They aren’t gaining any ground on the elite teams.  Is that win really a reason to celebrate?

@Puckman5 Welcome to Two Bills Drive. You may have taken the wrong exit, and we would be glad to refund your toll. The Buffalo Sabres hockey forum is located at the following link:

Just out of curiosity I looked at last years tackle for loss stats (on espn for what it's worth) and the team leaders were Lawson with 17 and Phillips with 15.  Edmunds was after that with 11.5.  This year we have Poyer (a DB) with 6 and no one else with more than 4 meaning that outside of Poyer no one is on pace to have more than 8.  Just more numbers saying how much weaker our front 7 is this year.

Noooooo

I'll play any position you want me to for half the price and only a slight drop-off in production.

McDermott and Frazier aren't playing LB and 1-tech. Beane is to blame for the defensive problems this year. No scheme in the world helps AJ Klein make a tackle. Beane better be on the phone with every team in the league looking for Harrison Phillips' replacement.

Agreed. I really have to question what Beane was doing with regards to Vincent Taylor. Why try to sneak him onto the practice squad? Maybe he had too much confidence in Harrison playing that 1-tech... but he's looks bad there.

Extremely lucky to suck out the W.  Without the turnover the Bills almost certainly would have lost.  But any W is better than a L.  Against the cheaters, even as ugly a game as that was, makes it that much sweeter. It's pretty obvious the Bills aren't going to do great things this season, but they are 6-2 and beat the Pats.  I'll gladly take it at the midway point.

I don’t believe there would be any drop-off production

Bills better get tougher or we’re screwed Defensively

Tougher? We are already screwed defensively ... and it’s personnel (or lack thereof).....and not coaching

Since horseshoes and hand grenades weren’t on the agenda today, and a W in the NFL is hard no matter who you play, I don’t think sitting here apologizing for outlasting Bill Belichick in a close game will be happening either. But sure, style points would be nice too! ;)

Here's success for me this season: win a playoff game.  While I think that this team can go deeper, there are three glaring things that aren't leading me in that direction currently (D issues, inconsistencies on O, ST issues in punting/kicking), but it doesn't mean that teams like the Ravens or the Titans won't slot themselves out and the Bills won't slot themselves in.

We quite possibly coulda just weathered the most inspired effort of the year from that pats team.

The Goat was coaching for his season. The Qb was playing for his respect.

I won’t ever freaking apologize for a win. That was a p****d off and DANGEROUS wounded dog that we finally took out back and put out of its misery.

Yeah, I'm thinking with this monkey off their back, maybe they will play a lot more free and easy agains the Pats from here on out.  There has been so much pressure to get over the hump, so it'll be interesting to see how they play the second one...

So true. Today was an opportunity to take advantage of a depleted Belichick team and maybe exorcise some demons. But instead our mediocre coaching staff and several struggling players survived a game they most definitely would have lost. These last 4 weeks makes you reevaluate this teams ability in the playoffs?

It’s hilarious to read a few of the negative asshats that populate this board. If you can’t enjoy beating the Pats*, effectively ending their season, and improving to 6-2 then you are just a miserable person in general. Go wallow in your negativity while we enjoy a nice W and some positive vibes.

you have to love the insult crew.  It’s all cake, ribbons and rainbows, but that quickly turns to flame throwing if you don’t share their opinion.  ass hat?  Really?   I’m not apologizing for wanting to see a higher level of play from this group at this point the rebuild.  I’m thrilled you’re satisfied with what you’re seeing.

Every win is a punch to the gut to only get up and move on.

I expect that, but a lot of folks are POed that the Bills don’t accumulate any style points at all.

Forget the style points and take your punch to the gut that comes with every win. 😁
