In spite of his misses Bass impressed me.  He seemed to be phycologically  uneffected by his misses.  Kicker is probably the position most effected by phycological things.

He makes me so anxious though...  I always think he's going to kick it left (the majority of his misses so far).

His last kick against the Jets was the best "shape-wise" (imo) - because he started it just slightly right of center and curved right through the middle. Great one - need more of those.

Interesting. The much maligned Bojo doing well, thus far.

Yeah just keep Andre Roberts out of the WR lineup and him letting a punt go deep and be downed was a mistake he shouldnt make with his experience.

That HAD to have been a brain seize on that miss read punt....had to be.

Yeah it was very strange, almost his entire game was a brain seize but i think he did have one nice return late.

Agreed - one good return and the rest of the game was wandering around in a phone booth......ugh!

Thanks for posting.  I hadn't seen this.  And, unfortunately, the first thing I think of when I think Special Teams is Bass's misses.

I knew Roberts and Bojo were doing well but I didn't realize they were doing this well.

Bass is a rookie so I'm still holding out hope for him.  His leg seems strong enough - hopefully he can fix the accuracy/consistency.

Bojo has been a stud, Roberts has been a stud, and the coverage units have been great. I would also add that Bass while he has been up and down with kicks he has been very good on kickoffs. So overall outside of Bass on field goals I would rank the Bills as having an elite ST unit.

Granted I am shocked that Bojo has been so good, but McBeane did put it a lot of resources (relatively speaking) to build a good ST unit. They signed a pair of ST specialists in T.Jones and Matakevich, they signed a stud returner in Roberts last year and they invested in Bass a 6th round pick.

I think one thing I always have liked about McBeane is the attention to the little things that they do on the roster. ST investments have paid off.

I'll give Bass a pass being his rookie year. If he can figure out the wind and keep his percentage near 80 that would be something to build on. He has the leg to get 60.

Has anyone actually seen Tyler Matakavich?  I’ve yet to see him one time

he seems to be the biggest waste of money ever.  A LB that can’t play LB and is never seen on ST.

Agree...I think Bass has been a great addition for this team;  who can be here for a very very long time....like Moorman our Punter

One thing I see with Roberts (or at least a perception) is that he appears to not have the right speed on the return.   He seems slow enough that the gunners are able to get to him quickly.   He works around coming guys and makes them miss but don't see the speed.

He has 5 ST tackles which is good for 9th in the league, seems to me he is a highly effective ST player.

Interested to see coverage numbers. The coverage team definitely hurt us against the Titans.

Andre Roberts is and always has been a stud. And Bojo (who I am not a fan of) while he has had a couple of WTF moments where he line drives punts and kills his coverage has definitely improved his consistency and reduced the mistakes.

But I thought our punter was terrible? Every mention of him here is that he needs to go. I thought those booming 50 yard punts I an seeing in the games are being piped in like the crowd noise? Are they real ?????

Serious thought: What has not happened this year, so far 🤪, are one of his shanks or failed pass attempts. Hopefully he has punted those out of his system as he's gotten a bit old and wiser. .... As for holding the ball on field goal attempts, that is not really what he's getting paid for. If he is not good at it, find someone else that is.

I'm glad the Bills have allowed him to grow into the position. And, I think we're going to go through the same thing with Bass. What both have are strong legs--something you can't really coach into. What they both need to grow into (coached into) is how to utilize and master that leg strength. It takes patience. Giving them the time will help in the long run--we just hope it doesn't bite us in the meantime.

On a fair share of his misses the laces were on the side not out.  Idk not a kicker but think it can push a football a few yards.

This is a really good listen on rookie kicking and Bass

Bass really has been a great addition even with the occasional miss (rookie), he has not cost us a game so far and the Bills can have confidence on kickoffs and long field goals.

I haven't noticed on Roberts but will going forward.  One thing this team does not have is a great deal of speed.  I googled fastest Buffalo Bill player and came up with a list that had Andre Roberts as the third fastest 40 time but that time was years ago as was Taiwan

Jones..  Roberts was the third fastest behind Taiwan Jones  and John Brown,  I didnt realize Taiwan Jones is still on the team.   Our starting running backs might be the slowest RB group in the NFL.

No one has seen him for there is no such player on roster.

it is Tyler Matakevich and if you really were actually looking for info on player on internet to back up your claim.
