StHustle Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Yeah read this earlier...what a heartbreaker. No way I would have told family and friends immediately after. All fantasy folks know stat corrections happen. In 2014 I won a championship off a stat correction. They guy who thought he beat me talked all sorta smack in the group thread. Gotta be patient when scores are close! 2
BuffaloBillies Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 (edited) Did he still get $100K or so for second? Oh, just read - dropped him down to only $3,000. Yikes. Edited October 28, 2020 by BuffaloBillies
BuffaloBobs Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 (edited) Just now, BuffaloBillies said: Did he still get $100K or so for second? He got about 3 grand -- he dropped a few slots and there was a multi-way tie. Edited October 28, 2020 by BuffaloBobs

I think 4 or 5 people ended up tying for first and he dropped to like 6th place tied with a bunch others so he walked away with a little over 3k. Edited October 28, 2020 by StHustle
Real McClappy Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 While reading that twitter feed came across this ward Gem = Amazing PLAY! Can't say I've ever seen this one before. 1 1

whatdrought Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 I feel like he has a gripe. Some subjective interpretation of what is and isn’t a sack is a sucky way to lose that. A sack should be anytime the QB is tackled behind the line of scrimmage. 11 minutes ago, Real McNasty said: While reading that twitter feed came across this ward Gem = Amazing PLAY! Brennan Huff Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 I would be absolutely sick to my ***** stomach. From 1 mil to 3k? That is absolutely horrifying
Call_Of_Ktulu Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 I would be listening to Fade To Black for a month. 1 1 1
KD in CA Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 On the bright side, his tax burden on the $3k win will be substantially less than the 40% or so he'd have paid on $1mm. 2
Nelius Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 You never, ever brag, tell anybody, or even pull your eyes away from the computer screen until that money hits your account. There's a solid 20-30 mins of shuffling after every tournament due to stat corrections. 1
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Ouch. You can get solid ROI on those sites if you know what you're doing but the top prizes are like winning the lottery. He'll likely never be that close again as long as he lives.
brianthomas Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 (edited) I'm thankful it didn't happen to me, because i wouldn't be able to handle it. I was in the running for $100k on Draftkings this weekend & ended up with $3k. Not bad for a $3 contest. But I was still hoping for more obviously haha. Ive only played on DK for a few weeks & only play 1 or 2 small contests a week. The contests this guy played, people submit like 30-40 entries & often have a program compute & enter their lineups for them. I think the article even said he submitted 43 lineups this week. I'd feel more bad for the person who just played 1 contest versus people like him that play 40, 50, 100 contests. Theyre like the poker shark equivalents of Fantasy Football. Just glad it wasnt me (because it would happen to me) with my luck haha Edited October 28, 2020 by brianthomas 1

TroutDog Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Wow. With that mush money on the line, the ducks should be more in a row. Feel for the guy.
Chicken Boo Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Ouch! It's bad enough when I see guys lose that mill on the final play of a game.
Sherlock Holmes Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Can you imagine crawling back to your boss after you told him to go himself?! 2
