YoloinOhio Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Who would take Murphy’s contract? Would a late rounder be enough to move him? 1

I think it would be part of a money in money out deal. With roughly 3.5M of Murphys contract going back. I think that increases a pick compensation we would give out for a player by a round. So Example a Takk McKinley trade might cost a 5th instead of a 6th if we include Murphy going back 1 2
BuffaloBobs Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 If they move him for a late round pick I would have to think it's to create cap space to make another move. I am not sure that late round draft picks have much of a chance of making the team next year, especially if post-COVID the practice squad's shrink and the rules change back to normal. 4

I agree with this. Add in what looks like an all star game season being cancelled like the East/West Shrine these later round picks next year become even more throwaway picks

LeviF Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 IF this is true there must be something else brewing too. Good teams trade for players at the deadline. Bad teams trade for picks. 1
Billl Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Don’t everyone start throwing offers out at once... 1
Coach Tuesday Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 They'll have to eat some salary to move him. I wonder if Terry is keeping track of the amount of his money Beane has wasted on guys like Corey Coleman, Murphy, etc.

TheBeaneBandit Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 You guys do realize his contract really isn't very high for a DE. Edge players get PAID people. 1
Hebert19 Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 I said this on another thread. Murphy and a draft pick for watt or rankins. My guess is watt then they just cut Murphy to free cap. 2
