Brianmoorman4jesus Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 If this defense is going to be good, everything is back on the table here for this season. To me winning with a pass heavy offense and Swiss cheese d,is not sustainable. I hope today was what the defense is going to be like going forward. That is something we can take week to week.

All while be held to under 20 points in each game. There isn't much to be optimistic about after the game today. But it's a win, and we have another shot to get things turned around this week in a big he against the pats. Division games are sometimes tough regardless of records. Just go look back at some of the ugly games the Kelly era SB teams played against New England...wins are wins. That's all that counts at the end of the day whether it was by 1 point or 50. 2

I think that they mean the second game of 2018(The Vontae Davis halftime retirement game), where the defense was respectable in the second half after a disasterous first half and week 1 against the Ravens. After that they played pretty decent for the rest of that year. 1

They made the half time adjustments they supposedly cant figure out. Second half was dedicated to the hater fan base. Go Bills! 1

More than decent...the Chargers rolled up 28 points and 300 yards in the 1st half and the Bills held them to 3 points(off a turnover deep in Bills territory) and 49 yards in the 2nd half. And no it wasn't because the Chargers just decided to run the ball. Edited October 25, 2020 by matter2003
DuckyBoys Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Hard to say if it was more the defense stepping up of the Jets regressing back to their typical level of inept offense Regardless seems the Bills O goes up and down the field against the jets but always seem to struggle to get points.

Toyo321 Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 (edited) This game was nothing to be proud of. The amount of money we have sunk into this D and the results in the last 3 games is embarrassing. Not to mention once again this is the 0-6 for Jets we are talking about. If the D truly turned the corner we would not have seen Frank Gore look like a rookie running the ball today in the first half of this game today. Sorry the D is still nowhere even close to being a shut down unit you need to go deep into the playoffs with. The wake up call will be next week against the Pats. If we give them any life on offence then you know that our D is just a mirage. You think it looks good one moment from a far away perspective but when you get up and close and really look it over it you realize it's just your mind playing tricks on you. That is truly the way this D has looked and all year long, no matter what you do they can't fix it with the personal they have on the current roster. Edited October 25, 2020 by Toyo321

So holding a team to 10 points and under 200 yards of offense is something to be embarrassed about? Good to know....guess we need to shut every team out. 35 minutes ago, DuckyBoys said: Hard to say if it was more the defense stepping up of the Jets regressing back to their typical level of inept offense Regardless seems the Bills O goes up and down the field against the jets but always seem to struggle to get points. It reminded me of 2018 where the Bills D got shredded for 6 quarters by the Ravens and Chargers but then in the second half of the Charger game they completely shut them down. Hoping the Bills figured something similar out because the Jets looked inept in the 2nd half...4 total yards, and 2 INTs and 1 first down. A bunch of sacks for us too as we finished with 6 in the game. Also had numerous 3 and outs. I would much rather have this D attack and get burnt a few times than sit back and let teams pick us apart. Hope they take notes and do this more often. Suddenly the D Line looks pretty good as they made Darnold run for his life almost every dropback...maybe they can't get there with 4 but bring 5 and the D Line is making things happen.. So agree. A passive defense is like playing not to lose. In general that does not work unless you have a 21 point lead at the 2 minute warning.

uticaclub Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 The Chargers sat on the ball in the 2nd half of that game
