75 percent field goal percentage. That’s not good enough in the NFL.

Did you see the shank by Gotkowski in Nashville.  Our rookie kicker made a clutch kick to force the Jets to work the full field.

I did. Another bad kick by Gostkowski as it looks father time caught up to him.

That doesn’t justify Bass missing 2 kicks in a close, low scoring game.

I asked someone earlier in the thread, you’re pretty responsive on bass.
How many kickers in the NFL today can you confidently say would go out and hit 6/8?
7/8? 8/8?

I struggled to find many that could do what Bass did today

I would respond average to above average kickers go 7/8.

8/8 would be great kickers.

6/8 would be mediocre to average at best.

Anything less than 6/8 would be looking for a job the next day unless you’ve established your name as a good kicker.

Do not be fooled by the 6 makes. If you average 75 percent over the full year, that’s an unacceptable percentage for a competent kicker.

But importantly he made two clutch kicks with the game on the line that made it a 8 point game

I found 7 kickers in the league I’d be overly confident could hit 6/8 or better in one game. Not trying to say Bass is all world but kicking is down across the entire league.

I really don’t understand that logic.

As sketchy as the offence was at times, they had 8 drives to give them scoring opportunities. Bass delivered on only 6 of them, which is 75 percent and is well below average.

If he goes 4/8 and they win 12-10, does he still get a game ball?

The defence basically shut down the jets to what was it, 4 yards or something In the 2nd half?

Saying bass is the “only one” who scored points is an extremely shallow way of looking at the game and how the game played out IMO.

Right...and they delivered on exactly zero of them. If it weren’t for special teams we were on pace for a whopping zero points today.  Even with a few short fields.

I do agree that kicking is down.

But still. If you average out 75 Percent for a full year, that’s simply not good enough.

I pose a question on this. It was asked of me earlier by a friend.

The better kickers, I would be pretty confident in 7/8 in good weather or a dome. But I would take 6/8 if he didn't miss a short one.

I’m all about a defensive slugfest, but this was a sloppy, no-flow slogfest.

Bills drove into Jet territory every possession. Hardly a no-flow slugfest.🤦‍♂️

Give it a rest. You’ve made your point ad nausea. Now go to bed.

1. Beasley

2. Hughes

Josh played OK as did much of the defense and both RB's, but these 2 clearly stood out. I was happy to see Jackson play well, but how will he fare against top tier receivers? Perhaps we'll know soon enough.

He asked me a question and I respectfully answered him.

He finally got a holding call, I mean sure the guy had to literally tackle him for him to get it but progress.

I was getting frustrated with the lack of holding calls, but I watched three games yesterday and it was consistent throughout. The league must be trying to get scoring up by telling the refs to call less holding.

What's happened to MVP Josh ? John Brown goes inactive & so does Josh WUWT ?

Separate the fact that there were no TD’s from the rest of Josh’s game. He accounted for over 360 yards of offence and his receivers, aside from Beasley, were not creating space for him to throw into. I will enjoy seeing the All 22 this week to determine what happened in the Red Zone, but my eyes told me that play calling and lack of separation were his enemies yesterday.
