Honestly, put Gilliam in and see what he can do.

Thats their MO. Sooooo they better. After the Harrison Phillips and Trent Murphy for cox and Zimmer situation. They were giving guys a look so they can against the Jets

the way i see it, when some dudes are out, it’s a great opportunity for other guys to step up and prove themselves.  you see this all the time in the NFL.  Hopefully all our elevated players this weekend ball out and earn spots.

Are they delaying the game?  I thought the whole team has to test negative 2 days in a row to play

Nope  - never heard that.

Teams with multiple positive players can get shut down while they do checks for contract tracing.

Knox was not on the field with the team so the contract tracing was easy - just the guys in the meeting.

This is not real complicated.

Imagine that.  About the right amount of time since the Titans game.  Probably more to come but won't be like the Titans plague.

The league spins the Wheel of Misfortune to determine a team's fate.  Some teams get bonus spins.

Only if there is an outbreak. One positive test does not count as an outbreak. The ones on the list other than Knox, are there because of contact tracing.

Got it, thanks for the info

This guy Knox can not catch a break and sucks that we truly aren't going to get a real 2nd year evaluation and development out of him this year.

If he comes back healthy in two weeks he could potentially play the entire second half of the season.  Should be more than enough time to evaluate him.

No real loss here. Covid is the only thing this TE group could "catch."

The one person excited about this is Jason Croom who may get lucky twice this weekend (Pegula's daughter on a rebound and a slim chance of being the #3 TE on game day).

Good thing Kroft has his baby this week.   That might have saved him

That's a lot of close contacts for what's supposed to be a physically distanced meeting room and practices.  Since Kroft only missed one day and since Gilliam isn't on the list, I wonder if there was some kind of gathering outside the facility?

Knox, Sweeney, and Becker all young unattached men.  Smith has talked before about how it's important to him that the TE on the Bills are all decent guys since they're hanging around his house "getting to know his daughters".  Wouldn't surprise me if Smith had a Thursday Night Football gathering at his home or something.

Since Gilliam started out as a FB maybe he hangs with a different group off-field.

IMO Schefter's tweet does not make sense.

First:  "where the virus passed" the virus hasn't passed (yet- hopefully never)!!!!  The other guys are ID'd as close contacts, not as infected, they just go back 24-48 hrs for whatever criteria the NFL uses to define "close contact".

Second, Gilliam is a TE and presumably at those same meetings, so why wouldn't he be a "close contact" if the TE meetings were the concern?

That said....Knox was already declared "out" for the game and DNP all week, Sweeney on PUP, and Becker a PS guy...Lee Smith has been active only 2 games and played 4 offensive snaps and 15 ST snaps....so for something to hit with "minimal" impact

Since he plays a FB as well as TE I think you meant RB meeting where FBs learn how the game plan plans on using them for blocking.

Meeting of one?

The meetings are supposed to be masked and physically distanced, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the close contacts probably weren't in a meeting.  Alternatively, if the Bills were breaking protocol in the TE room, it's going to suck big time if we're the team that gets slapped for it.

Some of us were trying to figure out how the Bills would manage to elevate all the players they need off the PS without having to IR or cut people.  You hate to see it but it's somewhat fortuitous!

What we don't get a delay to get healthy like Titans or moved to MNF like the P*ts?

Not yet.  Hopefully NEVER!  The Titans started out with one guy testing positive.  Most other teams, 1-2 guys seems to be as far as it goes.
