Assumed they'd just use Spain's roster spot for him. Now do they release Boettger or something? I think Jon won't get activated this week. We are playing the Jets after all. If that's the plan they got a week to figure out the DL situation. Some vet DL may just get outright cut next week. Can't see Beane keeping 10 DLs for too long.

YoloinOhio Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 He’s a beast. I call him my quiet assassin,” Hughes said. “He comes in the building early, he’s working hard and he’s just flying around trying to make plays. And that’s our makeup of the team, guys who want to hit the field, who are hungry, who want to make plays. And for Zim to go out there, every opportunity he’s got, he’s in the backfield tossing offensive linemen off, taking double teams. He’s being that force that we need him to be. So it’s fun watching him play just because of the way he prepares throughout the week. It’s always great to see someone else who’s in the building super early.” Zimmer was not invited to the scouting combine or Senior Bowl but demonstrated his eyepopping strength and athleticism at Michigan’s pro day in 2016. He had the requisite size to play as an interior defensive lineman in the NFL, at 6 feet, 2 5/8 inches and 302 pounds, and impressive agility, running a 4.85-second 40-yard dash, a 4.4 shuttle and a 7.01 three-cone drill. He had a 32-inch vertical jump, a 9-9 broad jump and benched 225 pounds a staggering 44 times – 10 more reps than any prospect at the combine that year.

He got blown off the line, constantly. THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATER LIES TOLD!!!! SORRY, THIS IS SO BAD THAT IT MUST BE TYPED IN ALL CAPS. It's a shame just how many people bought this lie, as evidenced with the 'thumbs up' votes. Zimmer is actually the brightest spot on the D-line right now, he made positive plays throughout the Chiefs game. Something seemed to go awry almost every time Ed Oliver stepped onto the field. This is just a ginormous lie and it shows how uninformed Bills' fans can be. I expect a big improvement on the D-line if Zimmer s given more snaps. Probably the most physically imposing player on the defense; the coaches have to find a way to get Ed Oliver impacting the defense because right now his play is underwhelming---not very dominant at all. 1 1

At this point his elevation makes sense with what the article says about him working super hard. I think as a backup OLman Spain was not working on his craft. I think Harrison Phillips was not working as hard as a guy dissatisfied with his play could have been working (busy arranging his special needs kids bash during KC week). McDermott and Frazier sending a message "you WILL work hard, you WILL go all out, or you WILL sit out"

Turf Toejam 34 Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 What was his personal foul penalty? Going after Darnold?

I didn't see the video you're talking about, but I saw last week's game against the Chiefs. He was in on a lot of tackles and a few were for losses. He was able to get push into the backfield often (even though it didn't lead to a sack) and showed chase-down ability.

Blank Stare Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Helluva play today, but please get this guy a new number. Pronto. Looking like a backup olineman subbing in on D.

No. But for the $600k or whatever he’s getting paid is music to my ears.. He’s been our best lineman at times!

He is so overlooked it's crazy, because he's in on so many plays; he's consistently pushing back the guy(s) blocking him and he strong enough to hold up at point of attack. I think he's a real gift to the D-line. 1
