PUNT750 Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Special Teams: They are special for the Bills. Great kick-off and Punt coverage. Bass missed a 52 yard FG attempt but made a 48 yard kick. He's a kid with a great leg. Our Punter is among the top in the NFL. He's special and I'm glad the Bills stole him from the Patriots. Offense: Josh had an off game. In the 1st half we should have scored a lot more points. If you want to find fault with him then do so. He's our leader and now in games he has additional pressure because we HAVE TO SCORE every possession with that rotten defense. The teams knows it! Defense: We signed 4 Free-Agents on the DL and at LB to take over. It turns out none were outstanding on their previous teams and can't supply the muscle to make an impact. IF Ed Oliver is hurt so be it. I see him as a DE and not a interior lineman who can make a difference. SIZE: Maybe it was the all-Blue uniforms but the Bills defense looked small & over-matched in size by the KC offensive players. Just an observation. Let's beat the Jets - - GO BILLS 1 2
Bleedbuffaloblue Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Definitely, let’s go out and destroy the Jets. Get the offense raved up and don’t take the foot off the gas even if we score 70 points! The Bills can go on a nice run from now until the bye and leave these past two losses in the rear view mirror. 8-2 or 7-3 very doable. Go Bills!!! 2 1
Thurman#1 Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) No, we can't stop complaining. But yes, it is what it is. (Not that it ever is what it isn't.) And what it is is a 4 - 2 record, the two losses being against two of the four best teams in football, and the four wins being the Jets and three decent, solid teams. It's hard to know what direction this is going or what we'll look like in four or five weeks. Edited October 21, 2020 by Thurman#1 4
All_Pro_Bills Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 The defense of the last two games is giving me flashbacks to consecutive games in 2017 against the Saints and Chargers. 47-10 and 54-24 losses. Somehow they managed to pull things together down the stretch and qualify for the playoffs. They need to do that again. 3
Apocalypse Nuts Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 The 2020 honeymoon is over that’s all. Time for the real grind now. Fortunately we can be confident that the Bills brain trust won’t sit on their hands without at least trying to make some moves to right the ship. So Allen is not ready to take us to the Promised Land quite yet. Same for the defense. They’re going to learn a lot from this incredibly tough schedule and it’s going to make them a lot tougher going forward. Apparently they really need that.
nucci Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 it is what it is......I really hate that cliche. it says nothing 4

Casey D Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Probably not. When Bills Mafia is depressed after a poor performance, there are two types of fans, people and writers. One group is like you, who tries to rise up from the depression and see what silver linings there are. There are, in fact, many. On the other hand, there are people who marinate in their grievances, and want to make everyone else miserable too. They jump into every thread, calling anyone who sees a positive a "non-realist." They love to call the team and its management stupid, soft and flaccid( no projection there). Everyone should be fired. "It is what it is" is the way of the angry world we live in. That includes Bills world. But don't give up or give in. Angry critics fix nothing, and really do nothing. Those in the arena fighting the good fight are the real warriors. Your attitude is refreshing beyond words. Keep it up! 2 1
ProcessTruster Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) I trust the process. It is ongoing. It is a 16 game season. It's a good roster. They'll be fine. They stayed with the Chiefs (until almost grabbing the game at the end on the near-turnover) using one of the most unorthodox (and, quite frankly, fairly imaginative) defensive game plans I've ever seen (no more than 6 in the box every play, eliminate an electrifying passing game and force them into a run-only offense and create turnovers). Horrible for the average Bills fan to watch (who expects the D to align to down and distance every down) but had the offense had played up to par (they did not) and they could have gotten a lead, KC would have had to throw the ball a bit into 7 man coverage as time ran down. It almost worked, but for whatever reason, Josh and offense weren't very effective all night-- that was the problem. The defense actually did their job reasonably well (other than not turning over KC's running backs a couple times, which I am sure they were told to do) , given the game plan. The offense stunk. I think it was a pretty good defensive game plan compromise against a passing offense that otherwise would have in all likelihood lit them up. Trust it. Edited October 21, 2020 by ProcessTruster 1 1
Mrbojanglezs Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Why is everyone saying oliver is a DE? Maybe he could be in a 3-4 but he doesn't have the bend, and length to get around the edge in a 4-3 base defense 1

thebandit27 Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Look, it’s this simple: if you want to win a Super Bowl, you can’t lose back to back games to conference opponents, one of which is at home in prime time... unless you are the 2019 Chiefs, who did that. And during that time lost 3 of 5...and ended up winning the Super Bowl 1

Also, if Buffalo did beat the 4-2 Rams. And the 3-2 Raiders (who beat the Chiefs). Also, what you’ve proven doesn’t mean 💩 if you don’t win games. Also, you completely missed the point. 2

Did you watch any of the games haha. They were a Dee Ford Offside from the super bowl
SoCal Deek Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) People please! If the coaching staff doesn’t fix the defense this team is going nowhere in 2020. The only reason the Chiefs didn’t put up 50 on Monday is because they knew they could run the ball at will...and so they did. Now after two ugly losses, go back and relook at the first four wins, and tell me that we pounded any one of those opponents. We didn’t! Edited October 21, 2020 by SoCal Deek

Let’s play that game then: the Bills were a CEH knee-down away from having the ball inside KC’s 30 with less than 5 minutes left. How about some consistency? And you’re still missing the point, but that’s fine. 2 minutes ago, SoCal Deek said: People please! If the coaching staff doesn’t fix the defense this team is going nowhere in 2020. No offense, but the idea that the Chiefs collectively said “yeah, we could roll these guys at will, but let’s keep it close because we don’t really need to score more” is kind of insane. They were a missed FG (by Bass) OR a CEH ruled fumble away from being in serious danger. 1
