No easy answers here or the problem would be solved.

Stating the obvious this is a Bills site and the best Bills site.  PPP allows some one stop shopping so you can be your Bills fix and see some non Bills discussion. PPP is a nice to have but I come here for the Bills with a side of PPP.

The issues in PPP are driven by a few posters.  I suggest zero tolerance - we all know who these people are not because of a different POV but the way they act.  Their behavior would not be accepted in a civil society and should not be here.  I use the ignore function to weed those folks out of my sight.

Moderation with a light touch but severe penalities would be my suggestion.  Bad posters are like porn, you know it when you see it.  When you see it, ban it.  Ignore other offenses that would be an issue in the main board but take out the trash in PPP.  Getting rid of 2% of the posters would clear 95% of the problems.

But the reality is that PPP is on pace to shed 95 percent of its posters but only solving 2 percent of its problem.

Yes, the wrong problem is being identified as what's ruining PPP.

feel free to send me a PM and Point out who is acting in bad faith. In fact, anyone could do that if they’d like.

I think the posters that continued to post their childish memes never got reported because we had a thicker skin.  Once DR got tired of their sh*t and lashed out they ran to the mods and got DR banned.  Only after the ban was handed down and the fuller story got reported did the bad actors get banned as well.  Too little too late imo.

Correction: those running posters were ignored continuously. They were also asked to stop reporting posts. The events in question were both reported by non-involved 3rd party members who thought the line was crossed.

....if today's PPP is deteriorating, which I believe is accurate from what I am reading, AND you had the opportunity to "do it all over again", what would SDS do differently?.....

...agreed....at the same time, it may help to understand your initial vision for starting PPP......and if that vision versus today's PPP is not what was intended, what you as SDS would change?.....it may give posters a better idea as to original intent and if the original vision is off the rails, what they must do to get it "back on track"....you own the site and can make the rules no doubt with all due respect.....this is a privileged membership and not a right, so your revised vision for today and going forward needs to be the compliance objective for this privilege.......I'm here to support PERIOD....

If you take a step back the running posters weren't ignored in the end.  They got exactly what they wanted to the letter.

As did the guy who got tossed, causing grief to some here.

SDS, as with any sports site that has a political arm to its discussion database......................

this version of political talk has become a cess pool just like every other sports site.

It's too divisive and everyone is at everyone else's throats, which leads to permanent bans anyways.

You are better off just eliminating PPP.

Politics is a hot mess with nothing but smears.

Better off without it here.

Most on here just want to discuss and debate current events. However, there’s a segment of anti-Trumpers who just want to throw bombs and hurl insults. Doubt me? Go back through their posts and see if they ever even speak the name of Trump’s opponent. It’s as if Joe Biden is the Holy Prophet and his name can neither be written or said. It’s isn’t complicated. These folks have ruined it for the rest of us...and that is EXACTLY what they’re trying to do. We all went to school with these type of kids. Miserable nitwits who tried their hardest to make sure NOBODY could go on a field trip. Sad!

Can't even debate current events without the pitchforks?

Am I correct?

So what are you going to do if SDS decides to eliminate PPP.?  Where are you going to take your platform?  You can go over to the new place but we know that you will not like it as you will be held to some standard of conduct.

Yes support the far right or suffer the consequences?

Not exactly.  But pretty sure responding "Hoax!" to every post one disagrees with will lead to a short visit.

Pretty sure the point is to have discussions.  And, maybe some minds get changed if the points are solid.  Most of the long time posters at this subforum have had their positions altered through the years due to effective arguments.

Post where you're comfortable, but maybe being outside your comfort zone is a good thing.

If the 3rd parties who reported had realized that the activity cut both ways (antagonizing/reacting/never letting anything “go”) then either they should have honestly reported or they could have PMd the involved parties.

If SDS can't be neutral, then there is no sense in keeping this forum open. There are other places rational minds can discuss politics without being called a nazi or a racist. Which is perfectly fine to do in PPP.

I didn’t get it all, but this topic got way off track with a lot of personal back-and-forth. I just sort of mass deleted a whole slew of posts - no offense, but this train took a left at Albuquerque and we weren’t going that way.

That's due 100% to the identifier.

It's just like twitter and facebook, piling on to squash conservatives/free speech.

Sad day for America that it has come to this.

LOL.  Welcome to an internet forum off-topic thread.  Sorry and I mean no disrespect.
