A lesson that they sorely need to learn . . . . . . . . . . . . everywhere.

Elon Musk Teaches Leftwing Activists That Actions Have Consequences

If owning the libs was a sport, Elon Musk would be competing for a national championship. The billionaire, who had never even voted for a Republican until recently, has been forced into an adversarial relationship with the left simply for supporting the basic principle of free speech. Yet, despite their vitriol, Musk did attempt to offer them an olive branch shortly after completing his deal to buy Twitter. Early on, much to the chagrin of conservatives, he set up a “content moderation council” that was supposed to meet and decide just how free the speech on the social media site would be.

Big, if true

'This is necessary to restore public trust': Elon Musk says he will reveal all secret documents about Twitter's decision to ban Hunter Biden laptop story

by Josh Boswell

Elon Musk has promised to fully disclose what led to Twitter's decision to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story, 20 months after DailyMail.com authenticated its contents with top experts.  Billionaire Musk responded to a user who demanded the social media giant get to the bottom of why the laptop was blacklisted from the site - which occurred before he bought Twitter.  In an act of 'politically motivated censorship', Twitter deliberately prevented users from sharing a link to a front-page newspaper article about Hunter Biden's private life and his controversial business ties to Ukraine in the run-up to the 2020 Election

I'm with Tom.  A platform like Twitter or FakeBook cannot remove everything that's not true.  They just can't.  Its just too big.  Technology to do so doesn't exist.   And besides, who determines what is not true to remove? Do we really want Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk and Google to be the arbiters of truth?

Build out filtering technologies where an end user can filter out the stuff they don't wanna see.

Giving the end user the tools to filter content is definitely the way to go.  But it won't be enough for leftists. These are the same people who shut down campus speakers they don't like. Nobody is forcing them to attend these talks and listen to a different POV, but it doesn't matter to them, they need to be shut down. It's what commies do.
