I know a lot of people are complaining about our pass rush, but I believe our back 7 isn't holding up long enough to get there. I'd like to see Norman back into his #2 role before trashing him. Also thought Cam Lewis made some plays.

Biggest hole to fill next year, is a nice young long athletic corner to play alongside Tre. I also want to see more of Epenesa, he had a great play for a loss yesterday. I know he also had a bad Offside foul, but I'm sure he'll clean that up.

Lack of discipline in edge contain and outside leverage by our DEs is a big contributing factor to the line's struggles

There's a reason they gave Epenesa the hook after that penalty and it wasn't just because he was Offside

I don't think I can bring myself to rewatch it, but I saw mostly whoever was over the RT, almost never had contain. All of Tannehills runs and Henry's 2nd TD was to that same side. I know it was more than him with both of those issues. Lack of discipline as a whole.

Yes one of the strangest parts of last night's game was seeing total lack of defensive responsibilities, guys were pushing hard but getting way out of position

very off-message from '1/11'

Anyone else think that Edmunds has the athletic profile to be an elite edge rusher? He's 6'5' 250

Comparables:

Jadeveon Clowney 6'5  255

Myles Garret 6'4 272

TJ Watt 6'4 252

Josh Allen *Jags 6'5 262

Nick Bosa 6'4 266

Chase Young 6'5 265

I would be in favor of shutting him down on the 3 week IR and having him come back as more of a 3-4 OLB. He is ineffective at MLB.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Titans are attempting to trade OLB Kamalei Correa.
Correa just returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list this week. He was inactive Tuesday and has been limited to 39 snaps. The Titans are expected to release Correa if they can't get a Day 3 pick for him.

DOB (Age):    4/27/1994 (26)    40 Yard Dash:    4.69 seconds
HT/WT:    6' 3" / 241 lbs.
College:    Boise State
Drafted:    2016 / Rd. 2 (42) / BAL

I just don’t know if Edmunds problem is instincts. I had had that thought as well at times this year watching him. But instincts don’t seem to be a thing that would get dramatically worse from year to year. They might stay the same or get better as you get more experience, but not dramatically worse.

A scheme change seems like it could have a profound effect from year to year.

An injury seems like it could have a profound effect from year to year.

The supporting cast around you changing seems like it could too.

But instincts don’t seem like the type of thing that just get 50% worse from one year to the next.

It sure is puzzling, though, with how much the play of this defense has regressed from year to year.

Interesting, but I’d prefer to offer our next years’ 1st and a couple swap picks for JJ Watt. I KNOW he’s getting on in years, but they’re going nowhere this year and don’t have a 1st OR 2nd Round pick for their eventual new GM & HC. We’re in ‘the window’. A move to instantly upgrade our passrush is imperative. Imo.

I thought Edmunds with his speed and height would be a OLB to cover a TE but I trust McD when it comes to defence.

We can't afford to pay Watts' salary. Also I can't see the Texans giving up on him as he's the face of their franchise.

Perhaps familiarity breeds contempt, but while I used to, I’m finding more and more fault with his decisions.

I think Edmunds is struggling with injuries so he's not at his best. I also think he's playing out of position, to me he's best suited as a SLB in the Jamie Collins type mold.

It’ll be years before they’re relevant and need/must have early picks for their new HC & GM.

he’ll be well past his prime by the time they’re ready to compete again. We can certainly afford his contract by cutting overpriced DEs taking up space

Give Watson a better receiving cast and they back in play as a playoff contender. The trade of Hopkins still makes no sense whatsoever.

He was the face of that franchise.

watson is now.

that’s being said, I wasn’t a fan of trading for Watt at first, but with each passing game, I watch Trent Murphy play and I want to throw up in my mouth.  He’s been really bad other than a couple nice pass rushes.

Once again the Titans would most likely trade him to an NFC team before trading him the Bills.  I am not suggesting he is not any good,  i am only saying your not going to help your direct competitors.

The titans are most likely going to cut him if they can’t get a pick.  I’m sure they’d take a pick from us instead of cutting him and receiving nothing.  He isn’t a game changing player.  He’s a role player.  Most smart teams wouldn’t care about trading a role player within the conference imo

The defensive problem is not just one player. They look terrible as a group. This edmunds talk is crazy. They ain’t the same D. The losses and acquisitions that we had during the off-season are not matching up. It seemed like a great fit on paper but it ain’t working.

Epenesa was in for FOUR snaps last night. The defense sucking wasn’t because of him.
