Aussie Joe Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 I was looking at his contract yesterday... 2 years left as not sure they will be able to trade him.. Also, the Falcons aren’t as bad as the Jets.. .so they May need to be looking at someone else.. 1
Saxum Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Quote But that will be a decision that I won’t make. He is just saying he will let a football person make decision. 2
BruceVilanch Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Trey Lance! They won't be bad enough to get Lawrence or Fields.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Ryan is 35, if you had the chance to get Lawrence, why wouldn't you. On the other hand with Ryan at QB, the team could play too well to get the #1 overall. Best they could do would be bench Ryan so they lose more, but that would be a tough move to make. Could try and trade him at the deadline, but likely they'd get a much better offer in the off season if they wait. 2
Charles Romes Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 We may see a level of tanking that is unmistakable in December. Lawrence is a generational can’t miss number one like an Elway or Luck. 1

Aussie Joe Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 He seems a worthy Number 1 but not putting him in the Hall of Fame yet... 1
Doc Brown Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Cut Ryan, draft a QB, and sign Taylor as your bridge quarterback. Apparently your rookie QB will be phenomenal their first season. 2 9
Aussie Joe Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 He has too much guaranteed money to be cut

Started watching some of his tape the other day. I don’t think I’ve saw any other QB stare down WRs like he does. I’m really surprised he puts up the stats he does

Apparently your rookie QB will be phenomenal their first season. If they cut him in 2021 he creates 49.9M of dead cap space. In 2022 it's still 26.5M. 2023 is the easiest out at 8.6M. None of that says they can't or won't draft a QB but it does suggest that Ryan will be a Falcon until at least 2022.
SCBills Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) Falcons, Giants and Jets will all take Trevor Lawrence at 1. I wish we had the Jets final game of the year again, with the option to hand them a cheap W. Edited October 13, 2020 by SCBills

I didn't realize he still had that many years left on his contract and I don't see them trading away that contract. That will be a problem for whoever the next regime is.
Big Turk Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 I mean why would he? Ryan puts up numbers but where haa that really gotten them recently? Reminds me of Kirk Cousins in a lot of ways.

All points to Ryan becoming the Patriots QB...He is more suited to their system than Cam 1

Though hard to knock what Cam has done so far. But who knows behind the scenes how happy Belichick is with Cam. Think Atlanta has better weapons though tan NE. By the time you pay Ryan, would there be enough money left to get him better weapons too?? 1
Mr. WEO Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Arthur Blank is not committing to being above ground through 2021... 2 1
