GreggTX Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Bruce. I'd also add that our OL is above average, but not at the same level.

We can debate different skill sets, schemes and time era but from a "talent" perspective they were solid. Maybe they weren't deep enough to win a SB but there were so many other factors. Coaching, player discipline or lack thereof, star players not showing up on the big stage. If we had any of those LBs in this current scheme we would be in big trouble. Our weakness on all 4 teams was at inside LB. The overrated by Bills fans Shane Conlan and the nobodies we always put next to him. We had no LT. We had no Ken Norton Jr. We had no one of that level to make up for having an ok to good ILB and a warm body on the inside. You may not agree but the teams with those other two guys took home 3 of the trophies we played for. The results speak for themselves.
Luka Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Pass rush. Even half of Bruce Smith would be a huge upgrade on the outside.
Nextmanup Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Agree with the pass rusher theme. Jerry Hughes has diminished in effectiveness over his years as a Bill, and we lack an impact edge rusher now.
