Billsfan1972 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 No I don't want him to be Lamar or Kyler, but not one run this week (QB sneak for TD notwithstanding), but wondering as to the reasoning. Seemed there were some opportunities and certainly understand being careful after the injury, however this too was evident in the LA game too.
teef Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 the team learned how strangely important 300 yard passing games are to you, and decided to tone back the running 5 26 4 1

And only 288 yesterday......😡 Expect more from Allen!!!!😜

To enjoy a long career it's better to play from the pocket and not expose himself to open field shots, the threat of him running and being able to is enough. I don't want him returning to the days of 100 plus yards running and have all the bumps and injuries that go along with it.
H2o Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Because Daboll finally realized he was a complete QB 1 2
Real McClappy Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Career longevity? As long as teams still fear it and play against it, it's ok not to have your QB running 10 times a game. 1
Ramza86 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Been wondering that too. I think teams are still planning against his running ability and hes good enough now to make that work for him without running. Has to be right? 1
Royale with Cheese Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Since he was so efficient throwing it, they saw too many openings to change things up. And Allen had an injury so why risk hurting the shoulder even more?
The Wiz Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Hard to run as much with those cantaloupes he's carrying. 1 3

If Allen keeps this up 🤞Daboll is going to be a serious HC candidate this offseason. Edited October 5, 2020 by BarleyNY
CLTbills Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Because he's gotten so good at playing QB, he doesn't have to? Scored 30 points without him gaining a positive yard on the ground. I'll take that formula and keep my QB healthy all day. 2
PirateHookerMD Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 He is having so much success from the pocket that it seems unnecessary. They are also probably keeping it off of film now and "saving it" for certain scenarios and games. 4
BuffaloTX Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Why run when you have the keys to this WR group? 7
Dablitzkrieg Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 (edited) Maybe they realized that if he gets hurt the season is over? Or maybe they now see he can fire the ball all over the field and make all of the throws? I anticipate when the playoffs come all plays will be open and he will run more. Just Joshin' Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Running will be strategic when needed. The threat keeps the D off balance so you need to show it at times. 3
Gugny Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Raiders proved themselves to be nearly as dirty as the Jets. I think it was a good decision in this game. 3
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 You Mix it up and keep defenses guessing 1
Rew Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I believe that the run heavy plan in game 1 was very intentional. They want teams to know Josh can run well, and run at will. They will continue to keep enough of it on tape to affect defensive play calling. You won't see a run heavy game again until the defense stops guarding against it. 4
