Dianna Russini on ESPN said titans and bills players are told they might play the game monday or tuesday (IF THE POSITIVE TESTS DISSAPEAR IN THE NEXT TWO DAYS), in which case the Bills/Chiefs game gets moved to Saturday night (NFL wants it on a non football day to generate revenue for themselves and FOX)

With millions of dollars at stake, you can guarantee that this would end up in court, especially if the outbreak was connected to the Titans failure to abide by the protocols.

There's no game this Sunday. They need to just announce it and get it over with.

That is the easy part.  What happens as a result is what is delaying the announcement.

People talking about a forfeit is ridiculous.  Talk about incentivizing a team to sweep positive results under the carpet!

I don't want a forfeit win either, but it's important to point out that Tennessee would not be forced to forfeit because they had positive results.  Any punishment the team receives is because they flagrantly violated protocols and they put the entire season in jeopardy.

we can definitely say the NFL has handled this situation worse than any other pro sports league

the wealthiest league in the world looks like it has no idea how to handle this...embarrassing

This is wrong.

The League is handling it very well- one team f-ing everything up is not the fault of the league.

It already happened though. It's pretty much a 100% chance Gilmore had the virus when he played this past week. He just hadn't tested positive yet because that's how the virus works. The NFL doesn't care about sick players playing as long as they don't have evidence that they knew they were sick.

Edit: Playing the game with a player that has it has happened. I assume you mean that it hasn't spread to others from that game yet, which we won't know for another week or so.

Yes, I meant it has not spread to anyone on either team yet. Cam and Gilmore had dinner Together Fri night btw

Options I see:

1. Play on Monday or Tuesday, pushing Bills-Chiefs to Saturday night or Sunday

2. Create a Week 18 and play then

3. Suspend with indefinite "TBD" designation and see what other games get this same designation throughout year

4. Cancel outright, no forfeit

5. Forfeit (very unlikely)

Options 1, 2, and 4 are unfair to the Bills.

Option 5 is unfair to other teams.

Therefore, I predict it will be option 3, minimizing immediate impact and waiting until we see what other games are similarly affected throughout the year. Of course, it could be argued that this is unfair to the Bills because they might have to play the Titans at full strength later rather than in a very weakened state now.

As for paychecks if the game is canceled, I bet the Bills find a way to pay the players. Not their fault.

I don't really know, but I do know that he learned from the master.

Ha. I started to write out that we should expect nothing less from a disciple of Belichick. Only difference,  Vrabel isn’t in the same stratosphere as Belichick when it comes to intelligence.

I think you have to look at the top here

. Mike Vrabel strikes me as a guy who doesnt  care about protocol .  Look back to draft night at his house, a clown show.

i mean, his son was taking a dump with the bathroom door wide open!!!

7pm start on Monday night football would be all right.  Certainly gives us a few more days to practice for the Chiefs too.  Of course it also gives the Chiefs those same days.

So if the game is pushed to Monday/Tuesday, do they still test on Sunday?  Is it just the day that the team plays that they don't get tested or is it just sunday's that there is no testing done?

Because I'd be willing to bet money that they have more positive tests over the next few days, including sunday.

Yep..  Everything is out the window.  And those clueless players mocking on social media that you can't prove 'nuthin aint helping neither.

That's really a horrible look.

"Oh, Noes, we were confused, I had to rescue a kitten from my pit bull puppy and I must have missed the Zoom where Vrabel passed that message" is plausible deniability and semi-sympathetic.  The NFL's memos do not exemplify concise clarity, and of course competitive players want to stay sharp and stay in shape.  Other team's players understand that.  They "get it" if it were them and their teammates, that's what they'd want to do.

But "Nana Nana Booboo, we Broke the Rules and You Can't Catch Us!" - Jesus, if you're a player on another team, that has to be infuriating.

Maybe the NFL should fine the Titans the amount needed to pay the Bills

Yep and give it to Bills players if a forfeiture occurs.
One of our resident payroll posters might be able to give us that amount?

That's my understanding.  Testing everyday, including bye weeks, just not day of game for teams.
