COVID is no joke and can wreck the year for the NFL which the Titans already have risked. Goodell is going to do what, in his opinion, will maximize profits (minimize losses). It's just that simple. And this is a WAG. How's this virus going to impact the rest of the season given the options on the table? It's a WAG.
stevestojan Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I’d happily take a 2-0 win as per the NFL rules taking us to 5-0 record with zero injuries. (then I will drink three handles of Tito’s at the end of the season when we lose the tie breaker for having lower “points for” as I could see happening.) 1
Warcodered Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 It feels like whatever they decide forfeit or reschedule the game shouldn't be played this week. It'd be nice if they can figure this out so the Bills can move on with their prep.
Magox Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 The punishment is going to have to be harsh to send a message. The audience is larger than just NFL fans. My guess is that they will hope that no other players test positive between now and Gameday. If no other players test positive, they will suspend the players that attended that workout with a 2 game suspension. They will fine the team $2 Million . They will forfeit a 3rd round draft choice. If a player does come back as positive, they will do all the above and they will forfeit this weeks game.

BillsfaninSB Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Seems like they need to make a ruling on this pretty soon. Can’t wait too much longer. i wonder if the league should have a league wide bye this weekend and push everything back a week. solves the hurricane issue too. 2

No way the amount of money gone would be really bad. From what I have read from NFL reporters media etc.. the league does not want to move the season back a week if they can help it.

You just know, though, some idiot from some team will break the rules next week.

They are going to wait until tomorrow at least I think. If the Titans have negative tests tomorrow and Friday, they can still try to get the game in on Monday. Sat/Sun the Titans can practice. Would have to move Bills Thursday game to Sunday. Edited October 7, 2020 by boco357 1

Now two teams have had their schedules wrecked because people couldnt follow the rules and unless a forfeit comes out for both games it will give both BUF and PIT competitive disadvantages. Additionally the rest of the league even NE for gosh sakes has managed to follow the rules. Only fair solution is force both games as forfeit, take away the Titans entire draft picks for 2021, and suspend Tannehill and any other players that broke the rules for four games. It might tank their season and have adverse consequences but given the circumstances this needs to be so harsh no team or player considers doing this or breaking policy again this year. I think at the most, they'll lose maybe a 2nd round pick for the draft. Like a $500,000 fine and forced to watch The Walking Dead after season 3 as punishment. 4

Their team and schedule have been thrown into total chaos. You can't suspend 15 more. The team would not be able to field a team. No matter how charged up you feel about it, the NFL and we as fans of the game, need to the max extent possible see and play competitive games. oh.. IMHO... Your mileage may vary. You are right. Can't suspend players that disregarded all the rules. Let's wait until the season is over and give all those players the newly created Bill Belichick Award. Good Grief I guess my "mileage" varied. 15 minutes ago, BillsfaninSB said: Seems like they need to make a ruling on this pretty soon. I agree the NFL needs to rule very soon but I don't agree with suspending ALL the games this week. If needed the NFL can schedule a break and make up games later in the season with appropriate rules.

No. Those punishments seemed like parking tickets at the time. 2
