Just Jack
@Cinga posted this a while ago, and I went through and tested it, hopefully this will help those that find themselves unable to get the games on their local CBS station. For this, I am running Windows 10, and using Google Chrome as my browser. Microsoft Edge should also work, it’s similar in design. I have not tested FireFox or Internet Explorer. One downside, if you want to switch to a different game, you’ll need to close and reopen your web browser. SETUP First, as noted, I’m using Google Chrome for this only, because I’ve set it up to clear my cache and cookies on exit. To do that, open Chrome, and bring up the menu by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner… Then click on Settings… Scroll down to Privacy and security and click on Cookies and other site data Scroll down to Clear cookies and site data, and turn that option On You can then close the settings tab. Next, we need to add locations to spoof where you are located. I’ve gone through and located the Latitude and Longitude for all the stadiums in the NFL… Team Latitude Longitude Arizona 33.5272647 -112.2627672 Atlanta 33.7549467 -84.4022879 Baltimore 39.2779876 -76.6248931 Buffalo 42.7737546 -78.789161 Carolina 35.2247859 -80.8561675 Chicago 41.8623132 -87.6188771 Cincinnati 39.0954576 -84.5182464 Cleveland 41.5060535 -81.7017368 Dallas 32.7472844 -97.0966826 Denver 39.7438895 -105.0222981 Detroit 42.3400064 -83.0477917 Green Bay 44.5013406 -88.064397 Houston 29.6847219 -95.4128961 Indianapolis 39.7601007 -86.1660764 Jacksonville 30.3239536 -81.6394415 Kansas City 39.0489391 -94.4861044 Las Vegas 36.0907018 -115.1859186 Los Angeles 33.9537991 -118.339902 Miami 25.9579665 -80.2410491 Minnesota 44.9736461 -93.2596832 New England 42.0909458 -71.2665352 New Jersey 40.813175 -74.0765189 New Orleans 29.951061 -90.0834329 Philadelphia 39.9019269 -75.1692795 Pittsburgh 40.446771 -80.0179393 San Francisco 37.4033851 -121.9716174 Seattle 47.5951518 -122.3338281 Tampa Bay 27.9758691 -82.5055231 Tennessee 36.166479 -86.7734785 Washington 38.9076433 -76.8667341 Again, click on the menu in the upper right of Chrome, then More Tools, then Developer Tools… You will see another box open on the right side of the page, with another three dot Menu, click on that, then More Tools, then Sensors You’ll now see another box pop up in the bottom right of your screen, click on manage Here’s the fun part. You’ll see I’ve already added all the locations from the list above in my sensor list. Note you can delete the ones they already have if you want to. What you’re going to need to do is cut/paste whatever locations you want to have from the list above into the browser. Click on Add Locations Enter the Location Name, Latitude and Longitude, then click add. You probably want at least Buffalo and whomever their opponent is. VIEWING Now close Chrome and re-open it. Reopen the menu, More Tools, developer tools. Now the submenu and Sensors if it is not open already. From the Location drop box choose the location/city you want. In this case I’m choosing Buffalo Leaving the side box with Developer Tools open, go to CBS.com, if you already have CBS All Access, sign in. If not, register for a trial. Once you’re logged in, select CBS (Local Station) under the Live TV menu Part 2 next Edited July 7, 2021 by Just Jack 3 7
Just Jack
VIEWING CONTINUED If you get the pop up asking to know your location, choose Allow You should see the call letters for the local station you selected in the bottom left corner. If not, close out chrome and try again choosing your location. Once your station comes up, you can close the developer tools by clicking on the X in the right side of the box. NOTES This sometimes works for games on Fox. I have not been able to get it to work all the time with those games though, so your mileage may vary. EDIT: Fox.com does work, you don't need to have an account, they give you a 1 hour preview. So after the hour is up, close your browser and restart to get another hour. With CBS, you can use this anytime, not just for games. Say you want to watch the local news for Seattle, or you miss a show on the east coast, you could catch it on the west coast showing. And if it doesn't work and somehow shows your current location instead, as @Just Jack says, close out, but then click off the location (just pick another one) you want, then back on again to reset. Then open CBSAA again and it should give you WIVB or whatever other city your trying to re-locate to

I've been playing around with it to make sure I could give an easy, detailed account, that even a @Gugny or @mead107 could figure it out.

Can easily plug laptop into TV via HTMI, but would be nice if could do it directly.

Just Jack
With the Bills not playing today, it would be a good time for those that want to try this, to give it a shot. I will be away for most of the afternoon, but if you have any questions, post them and I will try to answer as soon as I can. I checked on my Roku CBSAA app, if you go into Settings, then Live TV, you have to go through a couple menus basically telling it that the station shown is not your local station, before it asks you for a zip code. Orchard Park is 14127. But once you do that, you can't change it back without contacting CBS.

essential
for anyone wanting to do this i suggest you go here: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable download and install a portable version of Chrome, then follow Just Jack's guide to configure the portable version of Chrome. use it for NFL viewing only, that way you don't have to mess with the settings on your default Chrome installation.

So what would I potentially lose having the Buffalo station as my CBS All Access all the time. Certainly daytime TV schedule differs, but prime time is the same 99% of the time I'd imagine. Sports coverage would differ obviously and the local news and weather. I'd get to see blizzard warnings again!! Access to any of their older streaming library would all be the same I'd imagine? Once I set it in the ROKU will all my usage points use the Buffalo location? Or will others default to real location of TV or will direct access on TV still open Buffalo station? It probably wouldn't matter as can just use the one TV with the ROKU for all Bills games as long as accessing on TV app doesn't reset all devices including ROKU to location of TV
