A quick google search uncovered this gem about Gibson throwing at a batter in spring training and Seaver retaliating in season. Little known fact. That was year of the moving mound. When he pitched the distance was 50' 6".Â

I remember the height change.      You being Canadian I was about to ask if you were getting your sports mixed up.  There were a couple of guys in Ontario Prov. that could throw 100 mph from 46 feet in the fastpitch leagues in the 60's and 70's. 1
