Bill Maher is definitely not left by any metric. I've watched him for almost 20 years.

Classical liberalism is essentially "conservative classic" without the jesus and "the neighborhood's going to hell" when a black family moves in across the street. It's a right wing ideology based on small government and free market capitalism.

Neoliberalism is classical liberalism with a focus on regulation and bigger government being required for the success of the state. This is what almost all democrats are. It's also an economically right wing or center ideology. The only thing that makes the Democratic party even pretend to lean left is their performative gestures and empty words about minorities and the poor

So basically you're okay with most conservatives but hate the media created caricature that exists in your mind.

The problem is these meatheads classify everyone as alt-right.

And you and your ilk classify anyone who disagrees with you as a "socialist" and every program that benefits anybody but millionaires as "socialism".

Just for my own curiosity Bull can you find any common ground with people you disagree with ? Not judging just curious.

Same for you TH3 ?

Just to be fair I absolutely disagree w/Republicans on marijuana 😁

Unfortunately Dub, they are the reason I walked away from the democrat party. Their rhetoric and hate have clouded there minds and souls. They are what the party stands for, hate, control and bully anyone who doesn't agree with there thinking. have you noticed you can't have a civil conversation with any of them? They are mentally handicapped people disguised as democrats. I wish I could have my party back but I don't believe that will ever happen. They have gone to far left to turn back now.

The chances of catching Covid-19 and dying from it are less than the chances of the same from the flu -- at least according to Trump supporters.   Of course, that's if you're young and in good health without any serious health issues.  For a 74-year-old man with likely underlying health issues related to aging and obesity, it's a whole different ball game.

IMO, a stint in Walter Reed's ICU for a couple of weeks and a months long convalescence (which is what many older people who contract Covid-19 experience) might be a good thing if it taught him some humility, but I'm skeptical that Covid Donnie is capable of learning anything.

Are you kidding me?

Trump's already on the road to recovery.  He'll have the very best of care including Zinc, Vitamin C and D, Remdis-whatever it's called and HCQ.  He'll also likely get the plasma antibody treatments and by now he's used a rectal ultraviolet light and injected bleach. He'll be fine by Monday and it'll be like it never even happened.

Exactly.

If this wasn't designed for political gain, and the only thing the AP clearly cares about in the tweet is political gain----further proof thats all this is about.

Why don't they just share with us in a tweet all that "overwhelming" evidence masks stop the spread and one that doesn't include the words "many experts say."

It really is too bad Westside, I  really do enjoy talking politics with people. When we can do it without hating so much its kinda refreshing. I do enjoy the argument though

In my experience there's not very many of those types of conservatives left. The media has nearly nothing to do with it. It's all personal experience.

The classic conservatives I know would have never defended a government agency throwing people in the back of a van without a warrant and detaining them at hidden locations without charges. They also wouldn't have defended police breaking into a woman's home an murdering her in the middle of the night. In fact, they still don't. They believed first and foremost in liberty and that government was a necessary evil.

The alt-right is willing to forego their liberties as long as it hurts people they view as enemies. Except masks for some reason Masks are where the tyranny starts apparently.

There was a true alt-right poster here who got banned.  He wasn't in the same universe as the long-standing conservatives here.  You realize you're proving our point, since Ben Shapiro and Denis Prager are categorized as alt-right by the media.  As I said before, the media now lumps in anyone who supports the theories of classic Western Civ, Enlightenment and Reformation as alt-right.  That's outright bonkers.

Except the part where you all openly support fascism, police violence, authoritarian governments, and question whether or not white supremacist groups are really all that bad. Except all that, you're all perfectly lovely human beings.

I agree Dub, I've learned to speak with my head not my emotions.Though I slip from time to time. I think there many more democrats who think like I do then the so called democrats that pollute this board. I've been on this board for about 20 years, I was a staunch democrat and had many run ins with republicans on this board. I'm not ashamed to admit I've had my lunch handed to me by the likes of DC Tom, Alaska Darin, TYTT and a few others. But I was willing to learn from them. I don't always agree with them, but I definitely respect them. It just makes me sad to think how far my old party has fallen. I don't belong to any party and I doubt I will ever again.

Ok, so your example of who is NOT alt-right are Praeger and Shapiro?
