There’s almost always hockey cards there. I’d say it goes basketball, football, baseball, hockey. Sometimes the hockey cards are even on clearance

Some of the Target's I went to had Hockey from early 2010's

 

Could never find any Basketball. I managed to get a bunch in 2014 from Walmart LOL

Saw your post while scrolling, and yeah, the card market’s been nuts lately. I’ve tried breaks a few times, and yeah, it’s kind of like scratch-offs—you might not always get something huge, but it’s a fun way to keep collecting without hunting down boxes yourself.
